documentary on racism in british football on bbc2 at 11:20pm tonight. whats the betting it focuses on the premiership? i've been to a few matches with my sisters boyfriend and son (who are black) an have never had any experience of racism in the premiership.

its the lower league clubs that make no efforts need to sort it out. i await to see if this documentary is any good. i hope it proves me wrong.

if it is predictable it will be:

clip of heskey getting flack in slovakia
ask if its still there in our game
look at: millwall, cardiff and the rest of the prem.
brief mention of kick racism out of football
complain not enough is being done

i hope not.

Cheers for reminding me. As a supporter of a lesser known Nationwide club I can say I have heard a bit of racist abuse at away games (and unfortunately from the fans of my own team :( :( )

Should be a good watch though.

i forgot you went every week. your clubs shameful slowness in building a memorial to those that died there is as bad as racism.

I'll give you your first clue:

1 Division 3

That's all for now, folks.

What the *'s the point of racism anyway?

The point is people living in the past, people who can't grow up and can't get with it are racist IMO.

it was an empty documentary you do all that an the conclusion is.... we should have more black managers. What??? are black people the only ones abused this programme seemed to think so. is it worse to abuse viera because hes black or because hes french? cantona receieved unbelievable racism when he kicked that fan but we'll ignore that...

i'm glad they agreed a lot has been done in the prem an its the lower divisions that need addressing but why offer no solutions? the fact is that people get in a group an join in racist chanting because others are. until people have the balls to think for themselves it will continue.. also stewards are f*cking useless.

Exactly, people like to think they are doing something but actually have nothing new to say on the matter and don't help at all. The answer is not to get more black managers, does it not matter if they are crap at their job?

a third division match carries less press so the fa dont need to get them to address racism. it needs to be sorted out. i was at wigan the other day and a few morons sang about preston being a town full of p*kis. they were quickly told to shut up but they should have been chucked out.

im sad to say they were kids.

Topher and Gaspode Against Racism (TAGAR). Could work.

The fact is though, that these 'kids' probably don't have anything against asians or black people. They only chanted about it because they thought it would be 'funny'.

thats rubbish. if they are old enough to pay for a ticket they are old enough for rational thought. they go to football to cause trouble an should be kicked out.

I agree, but do you really think they've got an actual prejudice?

they must have some latent prejudice to have said such things. whilst they won't admit it, to think of it in that manner means they think of p*kis in a lesser manner.

I don't believe so. It only takes 1 person to lead a crowd.

it only takes one good person to do nothing for evil to prevail. its a cliche an its over the top but its true. i can accept peer pressure for clothes, smoking even drugs maybe but if you cant think for yourself you are a nobody.

I would say it's a bigger step to decide to take drugs than to decide to sing a racist chant.

maybe its because people like sidla dont consider it this big of a deal that its starting to creep back in. im proud to be from Lancashire but it bothers me that we are being tarnished by the number of BNP councillors.

i just hope my nephew never has to go to a match and hear that kind of thing because i dont think saying its stupid kids explains it.
