i got an email telling me about a virus which has the file name "jdbgmgr.exe" and that i had to search and delete it, but the file isn't a virus and the comp needs it, however a mate of mine just deleted it and then removed it from the recycle bin too.

how important is the file and is there any way of recovering it?

Thats why you should proberbaly just read the e-mails from your friends, unless your friends are sick enough to want to break your computer

It can be sent automatically by the Messenger and by the address book so can appear to be from one of your friends, and it doesn't 'break your computer'. The file isn't important unless you're a Java developer and can be restored easily if needed.

replace 'Java Developer' with 'Thick as shit microsoft developer' please. 'real' Java has nothing to do with that file.

Oh I got that, and it has a symbol of a teddy bear or something? I think some of my mates got rid of it, but I never bothered. And while we are on the topic of computers, this is probably stupid, but I am going round here, and everytime I click to view a topic or go to another part of the board, it opens up another window..so I have at least half a dozen windows open now, and it's irritating.
