The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Yeah I miss Dave too. I imagine if they had parted on good terms there would have been some reference, a tweet from Dave maybe a call into the studio, maybe even a guest appearance.

Nothing at all is all a bit revisionist.

I dunno. What's the context of your question? Is this something you heard reference to on the show?

Wonder are guests and callers instructed not to mention him on air?

Noel Gallagher mentioned him a couple of times, so if they are, it hasn't gone well for them so far.

I miss Dave sometimes too but regardless of he and Chris' fall-out, there were definitely times towards the end of the R1 show where he sounded uninterested and like he didn't want to be there. I feel like Chris needs a new Dave, and neither Dom nor madam are the right fit for that particular role.

If someone wants to use their archive.org account to upload it, I'll update the link so it's not hotlinking to Global!

Since I uploaded them all to archive.org back in the day, I thought i'd return to assume the position ...

This is where they'll be stored: https://archive.org/details/The_Chris_Moyles_Show_Podcasts_2015, and I have updated the wiki link.

And may I also add my thanks to everyone who's been recording and editing the shows this week!

I would expect if they had parted on good terms then Dave would have been part of the live tour in 2012, contributed to the 2nd parody album and be back now as part of this new show.

I don't think you can say regardless of the fall out, I expect it was a direct result of the fallout that he sounded uninterested. To be honest I didn't notice at the time other than Dave being late a couple of times and generally the show sounding a bit flat. I put the latter down to them having a long contract as they always seemed to put a bit of effort in around contract negotiation time.

I think the show is missing Dave which is a shame but I'm still enjoying it. It's also a shame Dave isn't on the radio anymore as I quite liked the chappers and Dave show as well. So a message to Dave, in case he reads this which I doubt, your contribution and presence is missed and good luck with your stripey horses and maybe one day we'll hear you back on the radio.

The banter on the show has been working well so far, but one area in particular where Comedy Dave will be missed is in the writing. Of the fake ads, the competitions, the show features etc.

Chris alluded to that this week by saying they hadn't come up with any features yet, and by suggesting he himself would be writing material for Rob DJ.

Compare and contrast the parody songs written for the show by Dave vs. the songs on Chris' own albums that he done wrote himself. Bad times.

And, yes: ROY > ROB!

Except Noel didn't get the usual briefing from a producer as he turned up a little late. Pippa wanted to play a record so she could prep Noel but Chris brought him in straight away saying something like "I think you've done a few interviews before and you know not to swear".

On the Roy/Rob thing, I never usually heard the end of the show live as I was in work by that time so I only really heard CPC and Roy's contribution listening to the replay podcasts for the last three years. The Pub Quiz was primetime so more people would know the feature.

In all honesty I didn't even think about Dave much this week. I don't even miss him that much. I could give a shit what happened personally between them.

I know Chris said he can't replace him.. But if there is no possibility of Dave coming back that just seems a bit silly.

Hi all, long time lurker and have used the archive lots in the last 3 years waiting for this week! Was going to post my thoughts on Monday but thought I'd wait til the end of the week.

The show overall I think is great. So refreshing to have some great radio to listen to in the morning. I migrated to Radio 2 after Chris finished (partly as I can't stand whiny Grimmy, partly because I'm part of the age brackets Radio 1 don't want any more [emoji15]) and although the music is alright there I just find Chris Evans so irritating.
The music on the station is great. I was initially put off a bit by "fresh rock and guitar based music" but having listened for a week I love it - basically all the tunes he would have liked to play on R1 but couldn't.
Yes adverts are so annoying and the reason I generally don't listen to any commercial radio, however I gladly accept them to listen to the Saviour.
The new team - I think the chemistry will get better as time goes on. Chris and Dom are as good together as they were before. Yes, it does lack Comedy Dave but as a few have said towards the end of the old show it started sounding vey stale and Dave was very disinterested and distant. I think we can safely say we won't hear Dave at any point in the future on radio X. That said, I think Chris should have addressed it maybe just a quick mention to all that he used to work with but they're all working on other things now etc. It would have looked at the elephant in the room. Not doing that I think leaves it open for callers/guests to bring it up and create awkwardness!
Liked the fact Chris mentioned about the 'lads only' thing and I can imagine he was raging about that as Radio X technically did what R1 are doing with the age of their listeners, branding it 'men only' they are cutting the potential audience in half so no surprise he has banged on about it being for everyone.
No surprise there wasn't really any features - this will come I think in time. We know there will be Rob DJ - amazing news as that feature was quality. However did Roy coming 2nd allude to the fact we might not have any feature with him in? I hope not. It may not have been prime time but CPC was so funny and the highlight of our day in work!
The new Chris - he has clearly changed as have we all probably in 3 years. He seems quieter and less arrogant / smaller ego. Not sure if I like that but obviously he needs to fit in with the station. When he had the first caller I was just waiting for him to cut them off in true Moyles style but no, definitely calmer now, didn't even cut off the creepy caller (maybe lining him up nicely to replace Simon Mayo/Steve Wright on R2 in 3 years)
'New' Dave - yes the chemistry's not great but we're still in the first week, give it time and I think they'll be a good team. They just need to get involved a bit more.
I can see Chris' show becoming very popular - obviously never going to compete with the BBC but think they will smash other commercial stations. The main problem, I think is as a whole, the station is quite weak. Apart from Moyles the DJs aren't the best and I can see people tuning in for Moyles then straight back out. Anyway only time will tell, I'm just happy having him back on making me laugh in the mornings... here's to the next 3 years [emoji482]

There's a thought that the 'Radio for men' thing was deliberate and a PR stunt and to give the DJs something to talk about, if it was deliberate, then very clever as it has brought in a lot of free press and although negative, none of the DJs has molested a dead pig so in the grand scheme of things....

Just to update everyone, the podcast is number 1 on iTunes (both the 'Podcast' chart and the 'Episodes' chart). I know they got to 500,000 per week on R1, I'd imagine with not a huge amount of pushing, they'd be happy with 100,000 this week

I've just noticed something about the jingles, One of you may have aswell:

Listen to when they say Radio X in the jingles. It's either my ears playing tricks or there is another word from the past being said under the word "X".

And on the topic of Jon Holmes, also heard him this morning mentioning Dave.

JayE wrote:Haha! Jon Holmes is brilliant..

He used to be great on BBC 6 Music, but has always been a marmite presenter, more than Moyles too actually as his humour is more satire based, and he always used to take the piss out of other Radio presenters there so this is nothing new.

I get why he may be a bit bitter though, but at least he wasn't sacked (like he was on Power FM & Virgin Radio, google it [emoji38] ) and still has a job

(I don't like it much either but that's still a snobbish thing to say)

I have never listened to Jon Holmes, but on this he is entirely correct.

There is nothing wrong with silly childish fun when it is actually fun... I have never found Keith Lemon funny. Have found some of Leigh Francis' other characters marginally funnier, but I don't really get him.
