I'd like to eventually join the Military Police. I have to join as a regular soldier to begin with which isn't ideal but so be it. I'm open to a lot of career paths in the army but I'm slightly hindered due to my age. I'll just go with whatever the careers officer advises should the application be successful.

Thanks for your messages of luck. I fear I may have left it too late to join up but it's worth a go. My redundancy has made me think about how I've wasted the last 10 years of my life earning a good wage in a crappy company and industry. Should have applied years ago for the army.

Last night I finished my final shift at Sainsburys after 3 and a half years. I start my new job at Essilor on Monday morning at 9. Exciting times!

Well, quite. The whole thing is littered with mistakes and "escape goat" is my favourite malapropism ever (does it count as a malapropism?).

The tweet itself was deleted, as was the one from the official Australian cricket board that was somewhat critical of Bell not being given out yesterday.

I am quite enjoying sitting on my balcony listening to the cricket at the moment.
