The number of bookies concerns me, you stand in Woolwich Town centre and you can see one of every major chain all within the space of a couple of hundred yards. I've no problem with gambling but it seems to be that bookies seem to target poorer areas. Go to somewhere like Hampstead and there aren't half as many. Also, having worked in the industry, I know that bookies are run by absolute arses.

There are about 11 bookies on Union St in Aberdeen, which is the town centre. 1 of which is the one I work for, but Hills and Ladbrokes have at least 3 each. There are 2 Ladbrokes that face each other across the road.

Topher - it's doing logistics for an oil company. Pay's not spectacular, but it's still a decent improvement on the pittance I'm on just now, and the hours are much better. Rather pleased.

Handed in my notice at work yesterday, for the first ever time. Received my letter of employment for my new job today and start literally 2 days after. Everything is becoming real! Exciting times! Just gotta hope I have no exam resits now.

Anyone see Mock The Week last night?

"Next up on Radio 1, Nick Grimshaw. He's not very good, but he's only 28, which so he definitely didn't get up to anything in the 1970's."

In Loughborough I think it is mainly the university students that keep a lot of the businesses in town alive. We certainly wouldn't have the number of restaurants, bars and whatnot if there wasn't a university.

Is The Showboat still there?

Thus destroying the myth of the ever-broke student in one fell swipe.

A student can always find money for essentials like alcohol haha

Thus reinforcing the lie that is "students are poor".

My bro went to Uni there. Pretty much chaville when the students flock home from what I was told.

Oh, hello everyone! Happy not to be killing my body doing a run because I sustained an injury in my foot. Damn marathon training.

I took a call when I worked at a water company who was called Urec Unt.

I think it was a joke but he had been paying the bills for 6 years

The lack of Irony from Americans is absolute genius...
“These charges [against Edward Snowden] send a clear message,” the spokesman said. “In the United States, you can’t spy on people.”

Never been in (can't anyway) but I imagine they are all fruit machines.

I liked the comment from that gobby scott from mock the week.

"Edward Snowden managed to leave the US before they could fabricate any rape claims"

Would be funnier if it didn't have a wiff of truth about it.

Whats he called???

Yes, Miles Jupp is a very funny man, love his work.

I'm off doing a site survey today, which is nice, day out of office! An old textile factory in centre of Leicester which is being turned into a skills centre thingy. Grabbed bacon bap on way here so all fuelled and ready to go, enjoy brief bit of sun while I wait for client to arrive.

Happy days.
