Chris's appearance on buzzcocks is highlighted in the review show "what a load of buzzcocks". It's on iplayer. Shows a clip of him with long hair as well! Blimey!

Oh and he features on the 2004 one just a quick clip

Probably worth mentioning twice so more attention is drawn to his awful long hair.

He's on twice. You may as well watch the whole show, it's only half an hour long. You'd easily miss him anyway if you try fast forward through it. It's a blink and you miss it moment

I noticed that the whole episode that Chris was on is on YouTube. Is it worth watching, or is it as cringeworthy as I expect it to be?

Is his appearence on Buzzcocks not why he had that massive fallout with Mark Lemarr?

Seem to remember something along those lines?

Yes, and it also caused him to fall out with Phill Jupitus.

They clearly both had a problem with Chris before the filming even started.

Chris calling the quiz crap certainly didn't help matters either! Least he didn't walk out like Preston did with Simon Amstell (who I can't stand).

Appointing Amstell as Lamarr's replacement was a masterstroke. I do remember enjoying Lamarr's shows, but looking back on these he was nowhere near as good as Amstell. Lamarr's humour was always much nastier than Amstells - I know Amstell ribbed the guests something rotten, but even when he got very close to the bone, you always felt he was just being playful, whereas looking back on Mark Lamarr's shows, he definitely just comes across as nasty.

Simon Amstell was excellent. I really liked how at least one of the guests was booked purely so he could rip them to pieces. The Donny Tourette episode is by far my favourite.

Simon Amstell's time on the show was terrific and i just started re-watching them and realised just how much better the show was with him at the helm.

I must be the cat (Amongst the pigeons). I thought Amstell was an idiot, He did nothing but rip the piss out of them, In a none humorous way. Mark was far better. Ask me to defend/explain myself and I could'nt, I just preffered Mark over Simon. The whole "Guest presenter" period was done (And still is being done) far better by HIGNFY.

I get what you mean. Amstell borderline bullied some of the guests and it could be uncomfortable for some viewers. Personally though I love that kind of thing. People like Lee Ryan deserve all they get.

I agree...with everything you said. I think Lamarr was loads better than Amstell (he was mainly an idiot, although I will admit there were times he made me laugh...few, compared to Lamarr), and the guest presenter is better on HIGNFY (although I really wish that both would get a decent permanent presenter...)

Chris was a bit of an arse on Buzzcocks, but then again, I do think it was an act- it was late 90s and his sweet years were the early 2000s imo. He's a cool guy. But I do also adore Mark Lamarr and Phill Jupitus, especially the latter.

And even if it wasn't an act, it doesn't matter.

Cos I can like people who dislike each other, that's no problem. I get irritated by people who say "I'm not a fan of (X) because (X) slagged of (Y) in one or many interviews, or they disagreed on (Z) programe"

You like who you like, it matters not who those people like...

Well...it wasn't the greatest, but it was the first FF I bought myself, and the second I'd ever played after VIII- I much preferred X, but this is the first time I've been here in three years or so, and I haven't changed my avatar yet- only just realised that Paine was my avatar...

I must admit, this new Buzzcocks series is full of nostalgia, I'm not sure if it's good or bad

I completely agree with this. I've always liked Simon Amstell - I've seen him live three times now and always feel a really deep affinity with him. On the surface we have nothing in common (except veganism) but I feel like we just think the same way. I adored Grandma's House too.

After watching some of that 1997 NMTBC episode, I've come to the conclusion that Bill Bailey doesn't age.

I just discovered Grandma's House last week, and then proceeded to fly through both series. Now I'm back to having nothing to watch.

Sat and today are up
