The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

A bottle of Pinot and half a bottle of Prosecco will do that to ya' :P

I just find the repetitive references to 'that's against the forum rules' and 'that could be considered a personal insult' relatively tedious. I feel JayE does often seem to miss a great deal of sarcasm/subtext on posts here, while exercising inaccurate pedantry (calling me out for a sarcastic, context appropriate use of 'lol' and 'lolz' as text speak) of which I've spoken about my feelings of declassification of 'lol' as text speak.

The comment was unnecessary, but so was making a goats cheese puff pastry tart from scratch at 1am.

As for not saying it to people's face, when I went for lunch with Cat, Toph and Zoot a few months back we ended up berating each other for geekiness, pedantry and general inadequacies. Calling someone pedantic much of an insult. In the grand scheme of things, I think far worse has been said over the history of the forum without so much as an eyebrow being raised.

Such fun :)

Chrys- I guess I missed your sarcasm, I thought you were taking the piss for the sake of it and it really annoyed me so I replied back with a stupid comment, No worries.

Misfit- Shut up.

This post deserves a knighthood.

If you want a Hospital Radio DJ to vote for, your prayer has been answered! I am registered under the name Jason Winstanley, on RadioBGM Sunday Show from 8 till 10pm, and with voting opening today at sonygoldenheadphones.com, I'd be appreciative of your support guys. Thank you all if you do vote! ^_^

what an absolute farce the golden headphones award is! How those muppets dan and phil won that award is beyond me. Other than perhaps offering favours to the sony judges in return for the award, then i have no idea how they managed it. Our little station should have won an award for the amazing output we produced for the FA Cup final the other day. Thats actually worthy of an award.

Isnt that the one which is voted for by the public? Dan and Phil have over a million subscribers each on their respective youtube channels. They're also massive Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr users, and actually post themselves as opposed to having someone on their team doing it, like other BBC shows. It wouldn't be hard to get a massive amount of votes simply through asking all the "Danosaurs" (as they call themselves) to vote.

They're a decent pair and their show can be enjoyable every now and again as well.

I like Dan and Phil, they are one of the few bearable radio 1 DJ's that are left. That being said I tuned in to Grimmy last week as I haven't listened in a few months and I think he's coming a long nicely he's finally settled in and I've gotten used to the fact that Chris isn't on anymore, I'm not saying he's great but he's more bearable than when he first started.

its all very well and good being youtube stars and having lots of twitter followers, but correct me if im wrong, the golden headphones award is supposed to be for someone who is a fantastic presenter and engages their audience. It just seems to me that radio in the UK in on a very slippery slope and is very quickly suffocating itself. It seems that having genuine talent for producing and presenting excellent radio, isnt as easy to come by these days, or if it is, there isnt as much of a platform for new talent to showcase their abilities. With the constant growth of networked programmes more focused on money rather than locality and entertainment, i find it quite sad and slightly distressing that 2 people, who came to light simply because of youtube and social media, and have only been on the air since January, have overshadowed some genuinely amazing presenters/broadcasters who have spent years working their arses off to get a job in one of the most competitive industries, due to the popularity of their twitter accounts. I dont believe they should even won, and even though they did, i dont believe it was for the right reasons.

I am a Dan and Phil fan from Youtube. They seem genuinely nice guys and have a good sense of humour as well as a massive fanbase so it does not surprise me they won.

Ckirk, I don't think you realise how engaged Dan and Phil's audience are, they are very good at what they do and are multi platform - which is the future of radio.

Sat and today are up
