I think there's a truth to it, though not a universal truth.

I mean ugly people are still ugly, it's just that other ugly people eventually realise they have to lower their standards or go through a life of involuntary celibacy, so they lie to themselves about their mates/partners being attractive (when they're not) and so in much the same way as owners look like they're dogs, ugly people gravitate towards each other.

It is if it discourages new visitors who are here to discuss Moyles and the show. The mammoth, merged threads and the off topic waffling hardly encourages new users.

You would have a point should the show still be going. With Chris in apparent permanent hiatus we are really clutching at straws when it comes to conversation. I had to start World War 3 last week in order to generate interest.

There has always been a tendency to go off topic on this message board. It has been like it for as long as I've been here.

Some like it, others don't. I don't think off topic provocation generates interest. It might prompt the half-a-dozen people who post here every day into action, but I doubt that it does anything for the casual visitor who only wants to discuss Moyles and the show, but who just sees a load of in-jokes and contrived arguments.

It's the same with any message board anywhere on the interwebs. In fact, I dare say it's the same with any conversation that's ever taken place anywhere in the world.

To artificially police discussion (in terms of an on topic alarm) would be ludicrous.

I agree, but as Deadly correctly points out, what is there to discuss? We've done JC Superstar to death and that's really the only thing Chris has done since leaving the show.
