Nope, they can't. Well, not unless Ofcom allow the other local Capital's to change their remit to dropping local breakfast hours but I can't see that happening. They can't just turn a was-local station in national.

Congratulations to Dom on the new gig! So I'm completely in the dark on Capital FM. I'm looking at their homepage and the stuff they play looks pretty much like what R1 is playing these days. Which means it's largely crap. Is that a pretty fair assessment? Is the breakfast show worth trying to listen to just to hear Dom read the news? I'm thinking I'll wait to see if he gets any kind of a larger role in the show.

Capital Radio plays the same songs on a cycle where as Radio 1 has specialist shows and showcases new artists. Capital also have shit loads of adverts.

I'm just trying to decide who's more of a *. Dave Berry or Nick Grimshaw. Lisa Snowdon has the easiest job in the world as well. I've hardly heard her. This is bloody awful.

I'm not Dave Berry's biggest fan...and listening this morning just makes me confirm this. Lisa does barely anything, I've heard Dom talk more in the last 30 minutes and he's only done the news and travel!

Capital are very stupid if they don't at least make Chris an offer to do their breakfast show. He'd say no to them probably but they are mad to have Dave Berry anywhere near a microphone. Moyles would make this show 100% better.

I'm glad Dom is back on the radio, but I won't be tuning in again. I listened to about half an hour of the show this morning and thought it was terrible.

Could be part of a long term plan to lure Moyles to the show? Doubt he would come back but in 2015 if he hasnt picked up major work i can imagine a £800,000 job might be tempting.

Listened to a bit of it this morning, I thought it was terrible. Just found it boring, extremely corporate, boring playlist, and no personality really between Dave and Lisa. Pleased Dom is back on the radio, but I have to say I won't be listening again.

I did wonder too whether it was a plan to eventually get Moyles at the station once his contract with the BBC ends. I think I'm just wishing for something that won't happen though.

Dave and Lisa hardly talk as its mostly ads and music so there isn't much time to bring Dom in. D&L seem to have the easiest job on Radio (other than Paul Darrow on Jackfm). Oh I also found it too generally too loud for 7am in the morning.

Was good to hear Dom again though but I hope this is part of a bigger plan otherwise I'm surprised no one has given him a chance with his own show.

I'd expect any show that Chris takes on will be on his terms otherwise he won't do it. The Capital breakfast show makes me appreciate the BamBam JackFM one more with their set up trying to be similar to moyles. I bet they were gutted by the recent rajars as they'd have been expecting an increase.

I really wonder what's going on behind the scenes and what offers are/have been made of Dom, Dave and Chris.

A Capital FM Breakfast show with Chris at the helm would be a very different to how it is now. Besides from the adverts that have to be played to fund the station I'd imagine the show would be much the same as the Radio1 Chris Moyles show. Like was mentioned I very much doubt Chris would do a show for Capital unless he had complete creative control.
