The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I've never stated either of those things

No! Behave yourself.

However, it would be fairly accurate to state that his behaviour is c*nt-ish.

As it's a description of the behaviour, technically it's not a direct accusation that he's a c*nt - and not a personal insult, merely categorising his posting style :P

Getting back to the thread...

Six months on (Nearly) and I have to say I have downloaded stacks of the old shows and listen daily... I have just finished 2004 about to start listening to 2005, some great memories..

I do hope that Chris decides to do his own show again wether it be on the BBC or at a different station, it would never be the same, but to have Moyles back on the radio would make me a very happy person indeed.

Come back soon, I need my Moyles fix!

Since September I have listened to all of the shows that I missed when I was away on holiday in the last few years and now I am listening to every show from the first half of 2004 up to July 2004 when I first started listening to the show properly in full. I am listening to 2 shows everyday and at the end of next month I will have heard almost every single breakfast show Chris ever did. After that I will probably listen to Nick Grimshaw. I haven't heard much of Radio 1 since Chris left and because of that I'm not up to date on new songs anymore.

Was listening to my iPod this morning on shuffle and it played Nana Window. Just reminded me how much fun the show was in the mornings.

Ach well.

Haven't really listened to the radio much since September. Especially at breakfast where they're ALL dreadful.

And Radio 2 is still too old for me. Starting to think I'll never be that old.

Ah that's great! Even without mentioning Chris' name, saying the "removal firm" thing was the same nod to Chris, just as if he would have said Toby Lerone instead.

I'm listening to Absolute radio, O'C in the morning, quite amusing, and miserable Geoff and Annabel in the afternoon. It is annoying and a bit crap but not as annoying as either Grimshaw or James.
My general disatisfaction with the BBC is now building in to a general hatred for the whole bloody lot of them, which stems from frankly poor programming on core channels, TV and radio, and THAT bloody advert for DAB and its silky smooth Sound.

Yeah , right-on BBC, Its trendy to align yourselves with the "blaxsploitation" Vibe of 70s filmage such as Shaft.
Token of black empowerment or promotion of racial stereotypes?
Or, you didn't really think about it? its just a bit o fun.

Hence i have to assume the place is run by idiots.

PS channel 4 news kicks ass. Hue Edwards can stick it

ho-hum

It's definitely not the same for me, and I'm probably not coping all that well.

I spent a few months channel hopping, I tried to keep up to date with the show downloads, but my car doesn't have an iPod input so I'd have to copy the shows to a USB stick manually, and I just couldn't be bothered with the hassle.

I stuck with KMFM, my local station that isn't Heart for a few months, but their playlist just got way too repetitive.

Most of the time I now find myself listening to Chris Evans in the morning (from about 8.30 to 9.30), but depending on what the 'sferics are doing, I can just about pick up XFM London on some days, so I'll listen to that, their 'Inappropriate X List' feature is quite funny!

I miss the days when I could just get in the car and drive, and not have to worry about what I'm listening to in the morning :(

My personal view is that there's some agreement between Chris & Radio1 that he'll keep off the radio until Grimmy has had some time to settle in and then he'll be back in some way. I'm guessing the last thing radio1 wanted was for Chris to move to another station or offer another radio show in some way and basically offer an immediate alternative to radio1. Plus I guess Chris might want a rest, he'd been doing early mornings for a long long time, so I reckon he's having a bit of an extended holiday from the radio until r1 release him from his contract at that point I expect we'll start hearing from him.

And I don't think that'll be in 2014, or whenever his contract officially expires, I'm guessing it'll be sometime this year.

I agree completely. Moyles' life is radio. He will be back. And the strategy your describing makes sense. That's why he hasn't seemed bitter at all, which, I would guess, he would naturally be, otherwise, and at least 'tweet' it.

I heard the 1245 newsbeat today, with Tina. It kinda struck a cord, with how the team have completely dropped off the face of the earth.

For so many years, we felt like parts of their lives, hearing about everything that they had been upto the day before, now, nothing. I miss not hearing about Dom and his chickens.

I get what you mean. I have no idea what's going on with the team anymore. I read Chris' tweets sometimes but not often. I don't know what Dave's doing or Dom or Tina and I sometimes listen to the Surgery with Aled but only on occasions. I really miss listening to Chris and the team in the morning and I felt like I was part of their lives. Now nothing.

When the show ended I listened to the last 12 shows all over again.
When they ended I listed to the entire marathon show.
When that ended I listened to all the birthday shows.
I'm on 2012 now and when that ends I'm left with a few shows I've picked out (Dom's birthday shows, Chris' rant at this forum, a few sound clashes).
When that ends I have some Mark & Lard shows lined up.

Then.........nothing.
I think I'll have had my fill of Radio 1 and will look to pastures new. What that will be, who knows. Maybe Moyles will be back doing another show. Maybe I'll have to embrace Radio 2.

When I think about it, I think Ben Cooper's played a blinder here really (not for us lot by the way) by taking Moyles off the Breakfast show before his contract was due to end he's also managed to keep him off the airwaves and stop him going to a rival station, thereby giving Grimmy the best chance possible without a mass exodus of listeners, many of whom I'm sure would go elsewhere if they felt there was a choice that appropriately accommodated them (Radio 2 = too old, 6 Music = DAB only, Commercial = generally sh*te)

Thinking back to when Chris Evans got fired, when Kev & Zoe replaced Mark & Lard, Evans started a new show the same day in the same time slot. Ben would have been at the station at the time that happened (as Chris' producer) so would have learned from that incident.

Best way to stop listeners following Chris is to make sure he has no show on the network and a contract that binds him to the network with no show.

Just my thoughts...
