I've just finished 2004. Other than a few shows where Moyles relentlessly plugged the Sport Relief Mile he was doing in Leeds, I cant think of many - if any - episodes I didn't thoroughly enjoy. For the most part it reminded me just how brilliant Moyles was.

Fantastic radio.

Absolutely agree. I think 2005 has its fair share of moments as well. Currently at the end of March 2006 and while there have been some funny moments, it is not as good as 2004 and 2005 at the moment. Looking forward to the whole X-Factor: Battle of the Stars links when the time comes, should be quite entertaining.

I'm currently on the build up to Derry on the 2004 shows. Very strange now it's going back there. I wish Moyles was still on air so I could hear the big weekend build up this year.

Listening to the June 8, 2004 just before they're heading off to Portugal. Makes my unhappy hearing the temperature for that day was going to be 30 C. Tomorrow when I wake up in the morning we're going to be experiencing temps well below zero. -23C (-10F). On top of that we're supposed to have windchills of -30C. Lovely.

Just finished listening to the final show from portugal. Magnificent radio. I loved every minute of the shows from portugal. A personal favourite highlight has to be when Aled gets pushed into the pool. If I was him in that situation I would have flipped out. :)

Maybe you could find all the shows in "Full shows & video downloads". Just a guess though.

Thanks :) found it via looking at the url of the previous download and working it out. Hadn't looked in the Wiki section before...interesting!

Sadly today's show on the rss feed is what should have been yesterdays, so looks like I am going to be a day ahead for a while :)

Today was the first time I've heard Carrie on their show, subbing for Jules though. Sounds like she has done sports for them before but not sure how long ago.

Yep - I was surprised to hear her voice on that show. I just finished the last Portugal show. Overall, a good batch of shows. I have to say, I felt sorry for Dom for the predicament he was put in regarding his travel plans.

I am downloading and listening to the 2001 shows and sometimes when I download a file, it is shorter and it cuts out sooner than shows usually do. I try downloading it again and am successful at having the whole show download.

So try downloading it again and try to listen

Only a few months in and I'm findin these brilliant. What has struck me is how quickly they grew into their stride, already sounding like the show we all knew and loved. Its interesting to hear That after a few months, Dom started to become more prominent as I thought at first he was only really around for news. Its also good hearing 'let's get ready to ramble' develop, after it just being there to annoy rachel.

It was great to hear Carrie today crack up laughing. I think that was the first time she had a big laugh on the show.
Fart machine, farts are funny!

I'm just a bit ahead of you BBQ. The week leading up to the Moyles' Mile for Sport Relief. To be honest, I'll be happy to get past that because I'm really tired of hearing about it! I really enjoyed Carrie's brief stay there though. She fit right in with the rest of the team even though she was just visiting. Shades of things to come.

The Sport Relief stuff was the only period where the shows dropped below exceptional during the whole of 2004 in my opinion.

I'm at February 2005 and missing Buzz Off! They've been doing Whatity What which was dire. I am remembering more of this stuff though. There was a link in the show I listened to today where they were discussing Carrie's posh flatmates and how they would look down their noses at Moyles and Dave and I remembered it clear as anything. Spooky to think that was eight years ago.

It is interesting listening to these old shows at a greater frequency than they originally went out at. It does make the changes the show went through particularly clear.

It ended at the end of 2004. Chris said that he got bored of it half way through the year and that's why he started 'fixing' it. I miss it! Like you say, it was always funny when Chris did that, and it started some funny debates as well. I liked the one where Aled Buzzed Step On by the Happy Mondays and Chris was incredulous. He couldn't believe that Aled didn't like that song.

Little things like that made the feature fun. And Chris used to pick some bloody good songs as well - unlike the golden hour :(

I loved Buzz off and hated the fact he got rid of it at the end of 2004. Sting Ring does make an appearance towards the end of 2005 in that slot, which had its moments thanks to some of the callers. Currently it is Classical Class in the 7:20 slot and it is just there.

Whattity What was pretty crap but I would have that over Celebrity Tarzan anyday, which is currently happening in the time period I am listening on (June 2006 at the World Cup). Usually takes more than 2 weeks for someone to guess who it is and I think the person calling in just gets told the answer off-air after a certain period of time just to not prolong it any further. Hate the feature and will be glad to hear the back of it, which I hope comes at the end of 06. Beep Beep Busters replaced CPC in 06 and it lasted like 3-4 months before getting ditched.

And man, there must have been a right bunch of whiners on these forums back then because every time Chris referred to the forum, it usually consisted of a rant of them complaining about certain things on the show.
From the 2 and a half years I have listened to thus far, my favourite features have been Buzz Off and CPC.

Same here. Two features I never got bored of. I do think that listeners loved them more than Chris did though. He admitted he got bored of Buzz Off six months into it, and dropped it after a year. He stuck with CPC but tried to drop it a few times and ended up not even attempting to play it properly near the end.

Listening to the 2004-07-16 (#127) show. Aled and Chris are discussing Aled coming into the chatroom here and pretending to be Chris. Anyone here involved in that and remember it? Is this what ultimately resulted in the "Ask Aled" section of the forum? Just curious.

Currently listening to 6th July 2004 and I never expected Chris to plug his mile run for sport relief this much, blimey he didn't shut up about it on the last show.
