Just got back from the show.

Regarding the "Where is Dave" question, there was a very short period where there were a few people who shouted that out and Chris bluffed them away then just said *cough* "working", and that was it. None of the tweets were shown.

It was ok, but pretty much what I expected. It is a bit difficult for to judge as I was at the farewell show which was amazing, so maybe my standards are too high.

For people who didn't like the out of context swearing on the album, prepare for bucket loads of it in this show.

And yes, the clear inference from Chris was, too, that Dave isnt working...

I went last night, really enjoyed it!
Me & hubby had gone for a walk earlier in the day (hotel was just round the corner from the O2) and Chris was outside having a fag! Hubby went and spoke to him as I was in shock, but he came over asked what our favourite tracks on the album, how far we had come to see the show and bless him, because I need a stick for my arthritis, he checked that I had a seated ticket rather than standing! He happily had a picture taken and was very lovely! He is VERY slimline!

Not going to give too much away, but thinking about last night again, if I was to analyse it a bit more I would say the focus moved a bit too far away from Chris the further into the show it went and that was when I lost a bit of interest in it. The show started off very promisingly indeed with Chris as the centre of attention.

The stuff with Aled was very good and when it moved into Dom appearing on stage I was still happy enough, but when it went further into Dom's part I got bored (although most in the audience seemed to like it).

After that I hoped it would focus on Chris, Dave and Dom, but it didn't really and I think the show lost it somewhat from there on in. Chris admitted that planning for the show started very late and I think it showed, but we all know Chris can ramble on about absolutely nothing and make it entertaining, and I wish there had been a bit more of that last night.

It was the first night though, so I am sure Chris will tinker with it a bit as the tour goes on. The first thing he needs to do is stop swearing simply for effect. I've no problem with swearing at all when it is natural, but most of this wasnt.

Over all I am glad I went, but I was just left with a desire for Chris to rediscover his passion for radio and get back to doing what he does best.

EDIT: Just noticed I typed Chris, Dave and Dom. Of course that should have been Chris, Aled and Dom! And just to make it clear as well, Chris is still involved right up to the end of the show, just not as much and not in the way I wanted him to be.

first off, was rammed. complete sell out. agree with the above review in the focus didnt stay on chris the entire night, but cant say it hurt the show in my eyes.

As expected, the whole "wheres dave" did pop up. he only acknowledged it twice as far as i recall, once where he repiled something along the line of "dunno, working?" and another time briefly but cant go into that without giving away some of the show. As chris said, if you liked the radio show, you would like this. wasnt any "major" celebs present,but the one that was there was entertaining

all in, a good night out, yes, alot of swearing, but i think that will prob fade out as the tour beds in. And no mention of whats to come inthe future

Hi all,

I thought I would join CM.net today as my Mrs and I are big fans of Chris and the team and we was there last night after booking tickets on day 1 and driving 200 miles to get there (mad?) but I can say it was worth it! My honest review would be yes maybe a touch to much swearing and I would of preferred maybe more of the try to be stand up comic (Chris just being funny) but be honest if Chris, Dom and Aled sat down and talked for the whole time that would of been an amazing show as well - Good effort and must be hard to of planned. I do hope Chris comes back to Radio very soon......

I was very pleased and surprised with the whole show and I think I would give it 9/10 and worth the money, drive and time.

Shame we couldn't meet the team after the show - Would of been great to get a autograph / photo - maybe next time

There wasnt any support act. The start time was due to be 20.00 (check venue on the day for clarification) but they didnt actually come on stage until about 20.20 and was still going just after 22.20. I left just as the encore was coming to an end.

I was left disappointed by the show. Could have been so much better but the format of it is wrong. There are parts that are hilarious but I guess I just expected too much.

Long time listener first time post!

I went to the show last night and also left disappointed unfortunately. Baring in mind the amount of material they could fall back on it just seemed it wasn’t really thought through. Chris did imply that they hadn’t really come up with a show as such when the idea for a tour started and it really showed.

SPOILER! Maybe my expectations were to high but I was expecting a few jingles to be played, a parody and even a game or two but there wasn’t any. I understand there could be a problem playing the jingles if licensed to the bbc but they could of come up with new ones for the show. SPOILER!

Although it was funny at times when looking around at some points people next to me just looked bored. Pulling people up out of the crowd to sign karaoke was a really bad move and if I had not paid for a ticket we probably would of left!

Don’t get me wrong I love Chris and the show but feel like they didn’t invest much time into it . The main reason me and my partner got tickets was to give them a good cheer and send off which we did!

A lot of people will ask the question “Wheres Dave?” and I think this is why the show didn’t live up to expectations. Allegedly Chris and Dave fell out whilst working on the breakfast show after Chris seems have remained close friends with Jayne to Dave’s disapproval and as a result are no longer talking (See the news stories over last few days) They were only talking to one another for the show and this probably also led to why the breakfast show ended also. Maybe they had some more ideas with Dave and because they no longer talk couldn’t include this in the show but im just speculating.

Having gone to see a birthday show in the past I was also expecting a few surprises also but this didn’t happen either and with one point the female singer of the band doing a song on her own with chris just sitting on the stall watching, two awfull girls singing, people chanting off from the start just to be left to do the whole song, I thought man i could of come up with something better than this!

Highlights? Chris initial entrance, Dominic funny throughout (without him could have been a serious let down) a few comments here and there.

Lowlights? The format, people picked out of the crowd, Apart from Chris, Aled and Dom being there no real relevance to the breakfast show apart from Dom’s feature and a few comments here and there. Chris talking to a curtain for Roy. Carpark catchphrase was my favorite past of the breakfast show but just having him played through the speakers on stage didn’t seem to work.
