(hopefuly back on the radio, fingers crossed)

Monday to Thursday. 10pm - midnight.
Saturday. 10am - 1pm. (vernon is leaving at the end of the month. Contract was not renewed)
Sunday. 10am - 1pm. Cover for Sara why she covers fern
Sunday. 10pm - midnight. After the surgery. Nick grimshaw and Annie Mac's show. Unless Annie goes solo.

I hadn't heard about Vernon leaving. I wonder if they will try and get the same host of the weekend 10am-1pm slot. I've no idea how far away Fearne Cotton is from going on maternity leave, but perhaps they can get Sara Cox to do both shows until she does the weekdays and then Chris to do the weekends.

Me and you should make our own red button footage if you know what I mean...

Northernlad, I know it was your opinion & I accept that. I was querying why you'd thought a radio 2 institution like Steve wright, with no sign of diminishing, needed 'freshening up'? And gave my reasons why Chris is not currently 'mainstream' r2 material imo, 'Tis all.

It's not possible to freshen up Steve Wright. He's been lost to stuffiness since 1995.

It's wasn't a joke nor was it meant for your entertainment. Put your toys back in your toy box and be a good little boy.

HAHAHAHA. Deadly is correct. And if jokes about sex make you cringe, there is no place for you here.

It sure is. What, you're surprised that I'm posting? Or did you have a point to make?

Is it a definite that Vernon is leaving? I listened to a lot of his show on Saturday, and he didn't sound like he only had one show left...?

Here's a thought. How badly would it piss Phil Jupitus off if Chris, fresh from his triumphant debut in musical theatre, took on the role of Edna Turnblad in Hairspray and did it brilliantly (which Jupitus was unable to do, he was crap). I can really see Chris in that role.

I'll clip that at some point.

Wonder if Chris would go with..?

If it goes to America they would cast Americans in the main roles I would have thought.

Don't they usually try and keep the original cast when shows tour?

It's usually when theatre shows establish themselves permanently that they get a 'native' cast (if the roles are appropriate). Plus The Lord loves British theatre (as well as the whole of the US being on an Anglophile kick), so wouldn't want to expel the core of his cast. Usually problems arise if the actors don't want to tour in other countries. I think it'd depend on whether Chris has any other Radio projects lined up (which at the moment seems unlikely for the immediate future).

If I was an American funding the production I'd want established, well known American names to boost ticket sales. The actors in the leading roles would be unknown to your average American bar Mel C.

I can see what you mean, they'd want to guarantee some revenue. On the other hand how many Americans know James Corden? He is doing great over here from what Chris had said.

I don't know if there's any truth in it but I heard that Chris Moyles demanded a weekday daytime slot ,either 1-4 or drivetime, but the radio one boss only offered him either the 10pm slot or a weekend show neither of which Chris wanted to do.Chris also apparantely demanded that Dave Vitty stay on the show but again Ben Cooper refused as they're trying to cut costs. As I say I can't verify this info but it does sound plausible

There are some internet stations and satellite radio (Sirius) stations that are specialty - all Elvis or all Beatles. Imagining an All Moyles internet radio station. That would be great although here we can pick what we want and play it rather than hear what is currently playing.

As an American, I would suggest that Mr. Moyles would not be successful here for a large radio audience. If he does, he wouldn't be himself anymore, which would be very sad.

As for any of the team saying they're leaving the BBC, it must be realized that nothing nothing nothing is ever, for sure, forever, never-changing in the entertainment industry, anywhere in the world. If Dom & Dave say they are leaving the Beeb, fine. But to think that's in concrete forever is just foolish. Anything can happen in that industry.

As for Chris returning to radio, there's no way it won't happen. That's his world. I would say he's presently dying to get back on-air by now.

I'm certain that he will be back on the radio next year-but the question is, where? He said himself in his interview that he's not getting many offers, so he might have to end up settling for something less than ideal. For example Mark Goodier is quitting Smooth Radio at xmas. Surely Chris won't end up h aving to replace him!

Incidentally someone mentioned earlier on in the thread that Chris might take over the new BBC networked evening show which starts in january.Sadly not. Mark Forrest has been given that slot http://radiotoday.co.uk/2012/10/mark-fo ... rked-show/
