Sid Watkins, one of the people who had a major role in racing's safety standards improvement over the years, and also responsible for saving many talented drivers' lives and treating other legendary drivers who sadly weren't so lucky, died today aged 84. A big "oh no" from a motorsport fan like me.

I know. I didn't know the name so had to IMDB him and then I saw he's been in quite a few things. It's such a lovely, touching tribute - the media coverage I'd seen had hardly even mentioned the woman he allegedly killed.
