The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Hello all; long time stealth browser, first time poster, blah blah blah ;)

Was I the only one to notice what could have been a little non-referenced in-joke, this morning?

During the new "who are you..." feature, Line 2 was a little girl called Holly, aged ten. It didn't actually strike me at the time until Chris said "say hello to mummy for me" was that it was Davina's daughter Holly.

I'm sure the team were aware of it beforehand, since Aled rehearses what the caller has to say, but it just seemed odd it wasn't mentioned or picked up on by anyone other than Chris or Aled afterwards (I don't think?)

There's something quite peculiar about this feature, that I just can't put my finger on. I've been listening to Moyles for the best part of ten years, and doesn't seem like the average spur-of-the-moment feature, especially as Chris brought up on Monday that nobody picked up on that staged fake-name call.

1hr 20ish on the iPlayer.

It also occurred to me that Davina's daughter is called Holly and must be about that age, but as I don't know for sure how old she is or if she's a model, I just put it down to coincidence. I assumed they would have mentioned it if it was that Holly. Maybe not, though.

I have to admit that the BIB occurred to me briefly too, when she said that her name was Holly and she was ten, and sounded like she had the right kind of accent to be Davina's daughter. But I dismissed it when she said she was going to a casting for Boden, as Davina appears to go to great lengths to keep her kids out of the limelight (their faces are always blurred out in any photos I've seen of her with her family and she doesn't take them to kids' film premieres etc. like a lot of celebs do) so I highly doubt she'd allow any of them to model.

It's obviously not a spur of the moment feature as it has a recorded jingle, and I can't say that I've noticed anything particularly strange about it.

Indeed, the only thing I really like about the feature is the fact that they've recycled the Birthday Corner jingle.

a quick wiki search on Davina's page shows Holly is ten, but it's more the fact she sounded very much like her that got me thinking! If not, then it's a very close coincidence.

True, but I'd doubt a ten year old would be aware of the implications, if you know what I mean. As with kids, they just happily blurt out whatever they're doing!

Maybe the next few days we'll figure out if this feature is just a stop-gap until the team holidays, or if it's leading to something else. They've been saying how busy the shows have been this week, with no proper slots for the Toby Larone clips, I thought they'd have dropped it temporarily until they had space they needed to fill.

The appropriate authorities should be contacted...

It does seem to me like a stop-gap feature to just fill time in the final few weeks of the show. I know I've commented that we shouldn't be negative about the show when we have so little of it left to enjoy, though!

I'm impressed by the fact that apart from one dullard today who was cut off, all the callers have been interesting, engaging and at times, funny!! Usually on radio station phone-ins, the callers are so bland and boring it's painful to listen to, but whoever screens the callers on the CMS does a particularly good job.

Today's callers were brilliant, especially Kate. I would like them to go with Dave's suggestion and get her on every day to find out what she's doing, she was hilarious!

When hearing Holly I too thought about the possibility and I expected to hear Davina but thought she couldn't since she was driving. I didn't know how old Holly would be now but it left me wondering.

Yes, I recognized the Birthday Corner music right away and sing some of that song when the music plays. I am surprised the tune is back as Chris mentioned he tired of or disliked Birthday Corner (I'm being careful with my words since all I remember was that it was negative). The tune must be OK and it was just the Birthday Corner segment that he didn't like.

It's clearly an excuse to involve listeners to help say goodbye to the show. I love it.

I always loved Birthday Corner, especially the music and the old school saucy rhyming "bank" with "wash" has me laughing out loud every time -- on the train, in the supermarket. I can't help it, it's great!

She fits into the Geordie Shore/TOWIE thing that some people seem to enjoy so much. Stupidity is rewarded with fame and success these days.

I actually feel really uncomfortable listening to her.
This may be completely wrong, but I think she sounds slightly not right in the head (if you know what I mean).

I do know what you mean, and I think that's a possibility. So hard to tell on the radio, though - presumably Aled or anyone else at R1 she spoke to on the phone before being let on air wouldn't know that either.

Sat and today are up
