To be honest, I'm not bothered. Yes I'll massively miss all the fun stuff they done around the Big Weekends, but apart from that, I'm not bothered what station I he is on.

I'm thinking though that if he leaves R1 now it will be the start of a gap in his radio career which is what I enjoy, his TV shows thus far (except bits of the UK Play one) do nothing for me...I can't see any obvious vacancy beyond R1 to just drop straight in. Hopefully it all turns out ok and there's a new show somewhere by the end of the year/start of 2013.

There is 2 places where chris.can go maybe link.into.1.

On a existing schedule. Grimmys.old slot. 10 - midnight Sunday to Thursday.

I did, and not really. It was a very short piece. The doctor reassured us that we're in shock and it's like the end of a relationship, Aled pointed out that we can still follow the team on Twitter, then they went back to talking about legal highs (they're bad).

Twitter isn't the same at all but it's better than nothing at all I suppose.

The whole thing will be a lot easier to deal with when Chris' next movements are revealed. Part of me thinks he won't be on a new show at all. Just because he isn't presenting the breakfast show he is still " too old" for radio 1 and the BBC trust. I wouldn't blame him if he walked away from the station. Let's face it he is under no pressure to work and can take time away from the spotlight for as long as he pleases. He'll have every major station offering jobs and also numerous offers of TV work too.

Oh I know, Aled said that he'd considered deleting his Twitter for the end of the show! I don't believe him for a second, considering that when the rest of the team suggested he give it up for Lent he said he'd rather they take Emille away. Also the drugs bloke they had in made me feel bad for using poppers. But that's not really relevant.

I used to post here in the early noughties as I was departing the teens & discovered CM.

I listened to afternoon bit religiously and even sat through his channel 5 show (think I was the only viewer)

Caught his interview, singing, hosting stints in bits.

Listened to parts of mornings when I could, but found it difficult due to work etc

It's hard to get to grips with the news. It's like grief!

'I'm a geek. Radio geek'. This is a cryptic message meaning his heart will always be in radio.
He's too young and outrageous for radio2, but can expect a weekend slot to replace graham norton (jr style). This wi be after his contract expiry on r1. I envisage his new r1 show to run concordantly with a pre-recorded? show where he runs through an 80's music show on r2. When chris Evans or Steve wright retire, he'll do one of those (probably Steve wright's)...toned down though. If that's not possible, he's stuck in the mud :()

He's a mediocre singer and tv person, he won't do that full time

Hopefully he'll never resort to that jungle reality show

Comedy Dave may or may not remain. Dom will be gone. The others won't remain. Best situation is chris Dave Dom and aled or a female

He won't recede back into commercial radio

But Aled has confirmed in the AA thread that the team are going their separate ways, so this best situation you describe is only a fantasy, I'm afraid.

I am probaably just in denial, but I hold out hope that Dave wasnt included in that.

I agree. I bet Aled isn't allowed to reveal such a large piece of confidential info such as the teams post routes? He could get in hot water. Conversely, lying to members who are devastated already?

I think the moyles will want to make a fresh start. Maybe he somehow feels he and Dave are stale after the drop in figures and people's recent views on output quality? On the other hand, he's not as good in non-zoo mode.

Perhaps it'll be one Off specials or podcasts and just concentrating on tv quiz and Xmas pantomime :D

I'm not saying he's lying in a malicious way, just getting us down, before a big surprise! (if you get what I mean...)

I do, but I don't believe he'd do that to be honest. Going off what he's always done in the past, I think if he had info he wasn't allowed to reveal yet, he'd just say he wasn't allowed to say anything.

I believe what Aled said, but part of me just thinks it is everyone else apart from Dave. As much as I love everyone on the team, I cant get my head around a show without Dave.

If it is true and Dave doesn't go with him, there has to be a decent chance they will link up again in 2014 when (if) Moyles moves onto a new station.

A newbie posting in s&v requests has asked if the site is gonna rename itself. This signifies to me that people are going a bit mental, possibly including me, and we all need to calm down and possibly take a break from thinking about it. Why would the site need a new name? It's chrismoyles.net! He hasn't died!

To hopefully put a smile on a few peoples faces, this fantastic advert from the start in 2004 was the introduction for me to Moyles as a broadcaster. As a 16 yr old in pre-broadband Ireland I had never come across him until I kept seeing these ads on the BBC :D

I know I don't post on here as often as I used to or even listen to Moyles Show as often as I used to but I was rather sad at the news last week, if only because I have listened to him on Radio 1 for such a long time (since 1999). However for some strange reason last last Wednesday I just had a feeling the announcement wasn't to be a good one.

Oh well it was going to happen one day or another and I'll will definately listen to the next show he does on radio 1 (or 2 or 6music, wherever he ends up), as for Grimshaw he's ok but I think I'll be investing in a DAB radio come September, Shaun Keavney on 6Music will be my prefered choice once Moyles goes.

Like everybody here, a week on it's still sad to think this institution is almost at an end. I know it not as if somebody passed away or anything serious like that but it's just been a constant for me while I've been going through many different changes, from school-to uni-to London and the big bad world of work!

Only positive that comes to mind is that the show could not have ended under any better circumstance. No overnight sacking, no being pushed after some alledged anti PC comment, no newspaper witch hunt. The way Chris announced it on his terms last Wednesday could not have been done any better.

Same here, first listened to Moyles on the old Capital FM station (the current amalgamation is not the Capital FM I grew up with) on Saturday Nights and when he suddenly went back then in 1997 I was very disappointed when he suddenly disappointed. Thankfully I rediscovered him in 1999 when I started going to College and listened to him religiously throughout those two years I was there. When I started work in 2002 I only managed to catch the last 45 minutes of the Afternoon Show & then only the 1st hour-2hours ever since. The fact this will more or less be an unbroken cycle of 12-13 years (give or take a few months off in places, and a rather regrettably long period between 2004-2005) of listening to Moyles, it's going to be very odd not hearing Chris on air for a while, it kind of reminds me of when Chris Tarrant finally left Capital FM after 17 years.

Agreed, I mean take Chris Tarrant's Capital FM show for example, he was on air for 17 years however his last 3-4 years were very patchy as he took quite a few holidays near the end. Although he was still entertaining right up to the end the show was noticeably a lesser show compared to it's peak throughout the 90's. Thankfully it seems Moyles' show won't suffer the same problem, although there are less features than what they used to do and the show is less structured than before the show is still hugely entertaining and popular so when it goes in September (do we know the exact date?) it'll go out with a bang rather than a whimper which Tarrant's show did in the end sadly, and arguably the Afternoon Show also did. Ffrom what I have heard of the last few months of the Afternoon show (from Will's last week up until the last show itself) it was a former shadow of it's peak period between 2000-mid 2002.

I also agree. It has ended in a good way.We should all be grateful for that, and enjoy the last few weeks of the show. chris doesn't seem to be bitter about it.I think he knew it had to happen, and is at peace with it.

Hmm yeah, I'm glad about that too. Although having said that, in a way it would have been quite fitting for Chris to be fired and go out in some sort of Russell Brand like blaze of glory, given all the 'controversies' he's been involved in over the years!

Ah well that's cheered me up slightly. The Breakfast show ending I can just about get over but all of you guys vanishing and not working together I can't.
I am meerly speculating but I can't see Chris wanting to be produced by anyone other than you so I hope you link up with him in his new show.
