Well I didn't expect that. Not until next year anyway.
TBH the show has been dying a bit of a death recently. It's not been terrible, but not as good as it was a couple of years ago. So perhaps this is the right time to end it.
I get the impression that between now and September the show will return to its best, as Chris makes the most of his last few shows. Here's hoping anyway.
Ideally I'd like Chris to get a gig at R2, or any of the other BBC stations. I can't stand commercials and have been listening to R2 after the CMS for a while now anyway and have got used to it. If he got a show there with a well-chosen completely new team and musical freedom that would be fantastic.
Like many others here, that's the end of R1 for me now. No more Cotton. No more inane "Good Mornings." Grimshaw is crap imo so I have no interest in even finding out how the new morning show goes. Does anyone know any good radio morning shows, at all?
Anyway, thanks to Chris for many happy mornings of listening and all the laughs. All the best for the future mate.
