Is he being sidelined by Radio1, is he cutting down on extra commitments or is Chris trying to rely less on Dave in his next career move. From 2/3 years ago any extra shows (aside from Breakfast) that Chris would do would be with Dave and Dave had Chappers as well. When Chris covered Greg Dave wasn't there, the Torbay show was with Fearne and The Hackney weekend is going to be with Scott.

I have thought of late that Dave's contribution to the show is less and less positive, but I thought it was probably just him - he was like that when he separated from Emma and he only improved (and was brilliant) once the divorce was over and he could go public with his relationship with Jayne.

His professional life seems to be getting busier, and on top of that being a separated yet very involved father is bloody hard work, and makes for a lot of complication. Dave on the radio is maybe a true reflection (in terms of his mood anyway) of Dave in real life, rather than a Radio Persona - perhaps he just finds it hard to switch from one to the other.

Dave and Chris have their own seperate careers. Chris wasn't involved with the ice skating thing (apart from as a supporter) nor does he accompany Dave on any of the many gigs he does.Dave was unable to take part in the Grag james show because it was a last minute thing ,and it's quite common for Chris to co-present with other DJs at the big weekend events and similar t hings. It's true that Dave has done less radio One stuff since Chappers left the station, but that's to be expected since he only ever did any extra shows with Chappers. He has done a lot more work on Radio 5 Live in the past couple of years though. I'm sure that Dave is not being delibarately sidelined, don't worry!

When Chris covered for Greg it was at extremely short notice and it was only because Chris was around. I don't think you could count that as an example.

Holy crap. That's usually the type if reply CJ gets!

I think Dave is protecting his post R1 career by doing stuff with Richard Bacon etc. makes sense.

The career prospects for someone like Vitty can't be very good tbh.

He owes more to Moyles than you can imagine, in fact he owes everything to Moyles. Never in the history of entertainment has someone with so little talent got away with it for so long. The BBC will drop him the moment the Chris Moyles show ends.

Never mind though Vitty, you always have the royalties from your fabulous book to fall back on!

He predates chrisjames. Usually comes here to spout something horrible about Dave (just enough to get noticed, and affect the reputation of the forum) and then leaves.

I suspect that Dave works far harder in the background pulling the show together than he's given credit for. His on air contributions probably don't reflect that. His contract has always been dependant on Chris signing again but he'll do okay.

I think Dave's got a healthy 5Live career to look forward to a'la Chappers - at the least.

Yeah, its just Dave Beford likes to rock the boat with Dave hate, don't try to reason with him - his accusations hollow.

Jealousy is a dirty thing...

Dave's all right. He has his phases when he is brilliant, but even times like now when he is a grumpy arse, I still want him on the show. He's like when your dog gets really old, and smelly, and pees in the house and goes a bit senile and he's more hassle than he's worth, and you wish he'd just hurry up and die - but when he does, you miss him.
