Let's face it, are people on a Chris Moyles forum really going to openly admit to liking other DJs, especially ones tipped to be CM's breakfast show successor?

In my short time here I've seen threads bashing Fearne, Sara, Scott and Greg. Who, other than Moyles, do people ACTUALLY like?

On topic I don't often listen to Greg but when I do, I like it. Although I am slightly biased seeing as I went to the same school and university as him.

We've definitely had that discussion before - there are fans of Mark & Lard, Simon Mayo, Colin Murray, and various local DJs here. You're right though, many of us don't listen to any radio at all other than Moyles.

What a strange post. Why on earth wouldn't Moyles fans admit to liking other DJ's? Most of us here are adults and aren't blinded by some misguided, childish loyalty to one DJ.

To answer your question, I like a few Radio 1 DJ's, mainly Sara Cox (I have enjoyed her Sunday show more than Moyles show in the past couple of months), Nick Grimshaw, Annie Mac, Vernon Kay and I think Zane Lowe is good at what he does. I think there are other presenters who are showing decent potential as well.

I genuinely do only like Chris Moyles. I could like some of the others if they were given a chance to be themselves and given more freedom. Radio 1 is becoming so square and corperate and Chris is the only one who goes against the grain.

This.

But its easy to forget that the grand succession to breakfast slot hasn't been awarded since 2004, yes the fundamental flaw is that none of the DJs have the ambition of Moyles but it won't be til someone actually moves in after Moyles that we'll see what radio 1 are made of, there should be some kind of fanfare too.

I never have and never will envision life after Moyles on brekkie so maybe they should all do a day of breakfast each, cos no-one is worthy of ultimate freedom Moyles has, let them compete.

I was being somewhat sarcastic, sorry if that didn't come across. I was just making the point that I see so many people saying they don't like presenter X, or presenter Y, whereas everyone here obviously likes CM (why else would they be here?!). So I was making a tongue-in-cheek comment implying that someone saying they liked a DJ who is likely to take over the Breakfast show might be seen as fraternising with "the enemy".

My second point was genuine though - it's interesting that some people only listen to Moyles and are fans of other former Radio 1 DJs but don't like any of the current crop. I think if/when Chris goes to Radio 2 he'll bring a lot of these listeners across.

Can't see Moyles on Radio 2, he'd have even less freedom than he does now. Personally I'd love it if he set up his own station that played a mix of new and old music with loads of chat in between.

I pretty much only listen to Chris now. Simon Mayo on the way home and rarely listen to the radio other than that.
