Hang on, he's ENGLISH - that means he doesn't dive. Only those nasty, swarthy furriners cheat.

Even Mr Yudster was "oh dear that's not good" when that happened.

Orange are annoying me today. Every time they do an update of services they send me a text telling me to delete the message, switch off and then switch on again - and every single * time my phone doesn't work afterwards until we've phoned them several times and they've done a full software reset, which for some reason seems to take at least 48 hours. Why can't they just get it right?

How odd. I'm also with Orange and never, ever have a problem with the updates. Although I don't bother turning my phone off n on again...

Complain on social media at the very least. They're likely to accelerate any procedure if you do - it's worth having a log of complaints to reference.

We'll complain direct to them - I'm unconvinced a whinge on Twitter is going to be quite as effective as calling them and explaining that I'm not happy and want something done, although the Twitter whinge does seem to be the way to go for many people these days.

The key is that the support team who manage their social media will be part of a much smaller team than their email customer support team - so it's more likely that you'll a) get a dialogue going and b) get your problem referred to someone senior quickly.

Really? That works?

If you have a grievance, the most effective way for resolution is to go online and twat about it?!!

Worked for me... I told HTC that I had written to Watchdog (I actually had) because they still hadn't sent my replacement phone... within a few days, I had a phone call from a guy who was 'accelerating my case' and I received not one replacement phone, but two (he advised me that may happen and he would have no way of tracking it, so he would need me to let him know about it, which I duly did... not). Oh and then a couple of weeks later out of the blue, they sent me a third, which I also told them about... not.

A woman from Watchdog actually rang me back but I had to tell her that since I'd told them about going to Watchdog, they'd suddenly become very good, although a few months later they were actually featured on Watchdog, so they may well have asked me to go on if my experiences hadn't improved. Glad they did, I don't want to go on the telly.

I've been getting calls today from an 'Unknown number' which constitutes them phoning, not saying anything for 2-3 seconds and hanging up. There have been 9 so far since 8.30, and it's really irritating.

That's really annoying - have you pissed someone off? Ex girlfriend? Current girlfriend's ex-boyfriend? Work colleague? When its as many as that it has to be deliberate. I know calls from call centres sometimes don't connect easily but not 9 times in a row. I'm not at all sure how, but it seems to me it needs investigating.

Not that I recall, 9 calls in 8 and a half hours is odd. If it happens out of office hours then I'll be more worried, but nothing since half five.

Obviously I'm gathering evidence to make a huge fuss and get some form of vengeance on the off chance that it is a company.

I assumed a woman because you called him a bitch.

My new phone still hasn't arrived cos the delivery driver couldn't find my building. It's a 23 storey tower block in the middle of the city centre! Tsk.

Ha! Only when Dan's not in ;)

and I'm on the third. But we have a 24hr concierge so he accepts delivery of all the mail for the building.

Why do you think that'd stop me? Just more time to grope each other in the lift ;)
