The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

They said today on the show that Olly Murs would be passing the baton onto the new replacement so I don't get why people thought otherwise! But yeah, Olly Murs get far too much attention on Radio 1.

No, it's going to be Olly Murs early on Monday with the intention of handing over the Comedy Reserve baton to someone else. Hopefully Murs will have * off by the first record. Couldn't have stood another week of him, I would have just missed the show for a week, absolutely no doubt about it.

My name is Jo and I love Olly Murs.

OM is ok with me. My passion is less than ^^, but still, Benji kinda hit the nail on the head.

I don't mind Olly Murs, but by the way - how many people here were actually listening yesterday, when they said that Olly would be in to hand the Dave baton to somebody else?!

Aled wrote:Is there actually anyone that we could put in that would have a unanimous approval from the forum?

As you know, you can never please all of the people all of the time - there are people who love having Davina on (me included - and I say that as someone who categorically hated Big Brother, the main thing she's done in her career) and those who can't stand her... there will be people who moan whoever it is.

I was listening to it since I mentioned it in my earlier post that he was handing it over. I don't hate Olly Murs now and I like a few of his songs but I'm just not fond of the overexposure he gets because it seems nearly every week he is on a Radio 1 show in one form or another whether it is calling in or possibly a voice-over or whatnot. I did like the parody that he did for Dave though a lot and wish it was played more (think it's been only played the one time).

I don't know why but I have a feeling it could be Jon Culshaw next week but that is probably a slim to none chance of that happening.

This tweet immediately made me think of David Walliams

Oh, I'm sorry.

I don't mind him. He was great last time he was on the show.

As a freelance proofreader, this paragraph gave me palpitations.

I'm not really a fan of Olly Murs either. Especially if having him on the show means Chris does his Olly Murs impression every five minutes...

My bro is a teacher and he posted a pic on twitter the other week of an entire page of text in an exercise book he was marking, in which the pupil hadn't included a single comma or full stop. It was remarkable.

Your bro needs to be careful - if that pupil identifies his work, or anyone else who knows him identifies it, your brother could be in deep do do. In fact even if that didn't happen, but someone at the school got wind of it, same scenario. Can't be too careful these days.

I like Olly but he isn't particularly funny

Given Aled is nervous:

1. It's either a comedian who could be controversial so Jimmy Carr, Walliams, Jack Whitehall etc.
2. It's someone hugely famous
3. Or it's very random/risky who the audience may hate or a marmite type person

I think number 1 is most likeky. OM is a very safe option, I doubt Aled was that nervous beforehand.

I would love it to be John Bishop.

Yes you are wrong. Olly is in at half 6 on Monday morning to hand the reserve Comedy Dave baton over to somebody else who will do the whole week. Olly will most likely be out the door by 7 o clock Monday morning.
