The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Definitely agree with Travis with the Musical Love/Hate feature. They could have done that for longer than they did but just dropped it. Same goes with the MP3 player game! I hate that they get rid of that stuff without notice but keep non-features like Classical Class way longer than it should be.

Tedious seems to be dead for the time being if they haven't done it for over a week. Should have it the way it was back in 04.

DarroM wrote:If you said this to me this time last year, I would totally agree but I think over the past several months or so, it has lost a bit of its charm especially when long-running features like CPC & Tedious seem to be ignored now. I find myself listening to the current shows less and more of the 04 shows, which I find a lot better than what has been done this year thus far.

Yes, I agree with that, but I still listen mostly to the current shows although I probably don't make the effort to catch up on the odd link I may have missed whereas a few months, or even weeks, ago I would've done.

Part of me wishes I hadn't started listening to the old shows again as I just compare the two now, and that is probably unfair, but the old stuff was just so bloody funny and vibrant by comparison. The nearest we have had recently to the old Moyles was when he covered for Greg James last week.

I am listening to some February 2004 shows at the moment and the show is just so different it's untrue. At lot has changed since then though... Chris and Dave are not 29/30 anymore and are pushing 40, and the constraints put on them with what they can and cant say have changed beyond recognition, but it just sounds so different.

I noticed that exact thing too! And Aled was like, "shall I do what's coming up on Radio 1 today?" and I was thinking "DO THE BLOODY TEDIOUS!" If I hadn't been in the street I would have probably said it out loud.

I noticed it too. It may as well be dead now, Aled said in the Ask Aled thread that "No proper conversation's been had about it", which to me suggests that dropping it has been hinted or mentioned in passing, but they haven't properly decided yet. :(

The thing is, Dave has to write the link for it to happen - so do we think he wrote one for Monday 19th and the bit of paper (probably the back of a receipt) is still sat somewhere in the studio unaired? Or has Dave decided, or been told/asked, not to write them?

We could be over-analyzing it. Maybe they missed a few more than they'd planned (after having so many guests on recently) and with Dave on holiday next week they decided to hold it off until the team return.

Thing is, by the time that happens it's gonna be, what, the 23rd April? They'd probably have to refer to your thread just to know what it was the last time they did it! 8O

Oh, Chloe in the music dept keeps a record of them, apparently. And yes, I don't doubt that I am over-analysing. As I said, Tedious is my pet project, so I miss it. I know, I have no life.

If there's no Golden Hour tomorrow I will know your pain!

I know! I was so pleased this morning. even though I still have about 5 2006/07 links to transcribe.

I can't do them til I've finished 2007, cos I want it to be one continuous thread for 07 and 08, rather than keep creating separate ones.

I've always enjoyed the Tedious Link, mainly for the convoluted series of connections which have to be thought up. If anything has caused the feature to get "tired" over time then I think it would be that - imagine having to connect two(classic) tracks in that way, keep the chain of connections long and keep the connections legit. Not easy! I've always been impressed by that.
