Does anyone have the big ben effect? Or at least know where it is located Because I am doing a new sound pack for the sound machine and would like to put it in.

I think either Radio 3 or Radio 4 use it at some point during the day. You could record it from there, but I'm sure it can't be that hard to find on the net.

there is no "effect" that they use. there is no button.
There are bbc maintained microphones by the bell

thats why sometimes on the hour on radio 4 theres that pregnant pause before it strikes. if you want to hear tape it just listen to radio4 one day

Why would anyone want the sound effect of Big Ben anyway? It's like having a sound effect of the pips - they only work if used at the right time, in which case you might aswell steal the source from Radio 4.

On the subject of big ben- we tried to highjack the bongs for Hospital radio on new years- and the connection failed!!!!- i planned to record the midnight bongs the night before- but they do the news headlines over them.

Could you not of stuck the TV on BBC one at midnight and taken the bongs from there?
