The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

This is very entertaining. They sound genuinely angry with each other! Chris is in one of his 'cant be bothered with anything' moods again!

Chris was furious I thought, and when he gets like that he doesn't make his point clearly at all. However I can see where he was coming from - all the preparation for this, all the opportunities in the last few days that there were for Aled to have said that he wasn't able to be there and Freya would be representing the show as producer - why didn't he say? It seems mad that if he knew that he wasn't going to be there he would allow Chris to actually arrive at the venue thinking that he WOULD be there. And Freya making a joke out of it by saying that Aled had a waxing appointment was simply adding fuel to the fire, and I can't imagine why she did that.

I think its safe to say that there is more than one back story to this that we probably won't be hearing about.

What was this about? I somehow missed it completely, even though I was awake at that time.

I don't really see the big deal. Aled was running late due to a previous engagement and at least attempted to show his face instead of not turn up at all.

I can't agree with Chris on this one, he came across as a big baby today.

I think (like with the David Gest late saga) that it was more that Aled hadn't bothered to send a text or call. I get annoyed when people are late and give no indication that they will be - in a professional setting it would be much more annoying.

I didn't hear this today, but if i'm getting it right from this thread. I think IF Chris was moaning about lateness, he has a bit of a nerve. But, 'tis his ship to be able to throw his weight around, I suppose.

I was with Chris all the way on this one, Aled was clearly in the wrong. On a side note, from following Aled on Twitter, he appears to have more doctor's appointments than anyone else I know. As someone who hasn't been near a doctor's surgery in about seven years and would only go if my leg was hanging off, those tweets of his have always stood out to me.

And I may well be way off the mark here, but for some reason I got the impression that yesterday's appointment may have been more cosmetic than medical, hence Freya's waxing comment. Just a hunch! And finally, to kick Aled whilst he's down, I couldn't believe that he admitted to having a sunbed on Monday when he's always telling people how dangerous is it on The Surgery, and kept going on about it to that Essex CPC contestant the other week! I'm surprised Chris didn't give him more of a hard time over that actually.

I think Chris was just fed up this morning. You got Dom taking another sick day, Tina doing the sane but then turns up when she gets to do a big interview and all the mess with Aled. I think Chris had every right to be annoyed at all 3.

It wasn't that. It was more that Aled knew in advance - like when they organised the trip - that he wouldn't be able to make it, and didn't mention it, leaving Chris not realising that he wasn't going until he actually didn't go. I think Chris had a point - either Aled deliberately didn't mention it (presumably because he knew Chris wouldn't be happy about it), or he simply didn't bother - either of which was the wrong thing to do. I think Frey said he was having a waxing as either a joke (in which case she misunderstands Chris completely), or because she was pissed off about it all herself and wanted to drop Aled in it. From the unsaid bits of the row this morning, I suspect the latter.

It was Chris who suggested Tina should take Tuesday off on the knowledge she would be better on Wednesday so he has no reason to be upset about that

Dom being ill is not really anyone's fault

And as for the Aled thing, I'm siding with Aled here, if Chris was annoyed why save it for when they get on air? Sure Aled didn't paint himself very well by not coming to apologise before hand but Chris calling him up on air was a dick move.

Maybe, but its what Chris does isn't it.

Just listened to this again and I was wrong about Chris making the most of it for entertainment value. He was genuinely angry.

I do think he went over the top, though. Technically Chris was in the right and Aled was totally wrong, but I don't think it was THAT big a deal though if I am honest. If Aled had explained it any time between not turning up and the start of todays show, I think it would have pretty much diffused the situation.

I would be more annoyed at the sickness record of Dom and Tina. Obviously I don't have the stats, but they seem to miss a lot of shows due to so-called illness.

I know we can all get ill, but those one day sickies always seem dubious to me. I know that in the 16 years I have been at work I have not once taken a day off sick that was genuine. And the idea that Tina couldnt go into work just because she hadnt slept is ridiculous! Just get on with it.

I listened to Chris having a go at Aled on air this morning, and although I do understand why Chris was angry, I do feel that was not that big a deal and didn't need to get so angry and upset, fine Aled couldn't make it and maybe should of said something, but it was not worth getting as angry as he did, seriously OTT.

I only hope he got so OTT was for the show and nothing else, if not, he has to calm down a bit.

I have cut the rest of your comment out because I want to focus purley on this sentence. I won't ask what you do for a job but please take note that the way you worded it makes it sound like you mean that the comment goes for everybody. I hope it doesnt because of the varied types of jobs in the world.

"I've had no sleep but I will get in my taxi anyway". Bit extreme I admit, but you know what I'm getting at.

I should have been clearer, but no I wasn't referring to all jobs.

In which case you haven't taken a sick day? Because if you have taken a non-sick day, it's a bit hypocritical to have a go at Dom and Tina even if you assume they aren't really ill.

No, it's not hypocritical because I am not defending myself. Also, I don't particularly care about my job or the people I work with or for. I am not saying Dom and Tina don't care, but that is why I do it anyway.

If you are ill, particularly if whatever you have might be passed around amongst your colleagues, you should stay home. If you are well enough, you should go to work. Its not rocket science.

And that hits nail on head for me. If it can be shared, stay away. If not, get ya a$$ in. Unless its a si(alton towers)ck day, of course.

My work uses what's called the 'Bradford factor' which takes into account the amount of one-day absences you have. It assumes that those are more likely to be faked and penalises you for having lots of those as opposed to fewer extended periods of sickness. Thankfully, I have exemption cos of my arthritis. So many illnesses like arthritis are defined by 'good days and bad days' - for example, last week I was in horrible pain after a 2minute walk, yesterday I walked for 20mins with no problems. The system really doesn't allow for that sort of thing.

Depends though, if it's just a cold you should go in. I don't like people who stay away with the * sniffles, even if that can be caught by others. It's a cold, get over it.

Sorry, yes, I'd have assumed that was a given. A common cold is never a reason to be away from work.
