That never bothers me when I go to hotels. I love those conveyor belt toasters! It means you can put almost as many slices as you want in at the same time. Also, I never wear napkins, because I like to live life on the edge.

Hard butter is annoying - if its in the wrapped portion packs, I put the packs between my two slices of toast for a couple of minutes, that sorts them out.

I don't spend much time in Hotels, but in good restaurants the butter that comes with bread should never be hard. Ruins the integrity of the bread completely.

At home I much prefer a spreadable margarine.

We use Clover when its on offer, I Can't Believe Its Not Butter (I can) when it isn't. Although if I could afford it even when it IS on offer, I would use Lurpak Spreadable.

We use Clover when it's on offer as well, which is a bit annoying as it's so * hard - I Can't Believe It's Not Butter is the softest and therefore my favourite. I can't tell the difference in flavour when it's in my sandwich anyway.

There's no point in having real butter unless you're baking something or having it on really good bread.

We use Kerry Gold ideally, but Lurpack and Clover are close subsidies should one be required.

Proppa butter like Duckster would be nice, but too impractical as a general rule.

Its not hard or to soft if you have a good butter dish.

The fat content is actually very good for you as part of a well balanced diet.

Yes we do, but yes it is. Maybe our kitchen isn't cold enough, but ours just turns to slop, regardless of dish - and I did experiment with dish location....

No it isn't, its a spread from the fridge vegetable oil spread, not hard at all! But if I Can't Believe Its Not Butter is your favourite, and it IS a lot cheaper than Clover, why not use that anyway?

Butter contains a lot of vitamins which these synthesised spreads don't. As long as you aren't having loads and loads and loads of it, I agree its probably healthier. But I'm fat so I avoid it. Although when I'm dieting I avoid all butter substitutes too, calorifically they are no different to butter. So if you aren't worried about the calories, and you can afford it, butter is the healthier choice I reckon.

It tears my bread if it's just out of the fridge, whereas I Can't Believe It's Not Butter doesn't. But apparently Clover tastes amazing, so we get that a lot.

It is nicer, but you're right really, once its in your sandwich it makes very little difference. Its great on toast though. I still don't agree that it is hard.

I don't care on toast either (although obviously that makes it easier to spread). As long as it's on the toast soon enough for it to completely melt, I don't care what brand it is.
