Has he tweeted a list of book signing venues? I would go along if local (unlikely)

But what are you basing that on? The fact he wasnt arsed about the fact Nic said she was from here? Dave has always thought we are a load of geeks on here, and lets face it, he has a point. But who cares? Dave is a grown man who takes football far too seriously and I think that is geeky and somewhat sad. That is my opinion, just as he has one about us.

When I saw Dave at a signing for DOI I mentioned that I was from here (before the comment about his divorce and finances) and he wasnt particularly interested then, although he did acknowledge that we are genuine fans. And on that occasion when there were loads of people wanting photos and signings he was absoloutely lovely with every single one of them. I was way back in the queue and was watching how he dealt with them, hoping that he would be nice and friendly and he was. There was no sighing or little glances at his watch or anything like that. He was great with everyone. He didnt strike me as someone who needed to get over himself at all.

You listen to the show like we all do and I dont think you seriously believe Dave considers himself to be in the slightest bit important on any scale you wish to mention.

I'm basing it on my interpretation of his response to people from the site - ie less friendly than otherwise. This might be a wrong impression, but from what people have said and from Dave's own response to occasions when people have discussed his life on here, he seems to think that he and his life should for some reason be beyond public comment. Given that he earns a living broadcasting his conversations live to millions of people, and those conversations often mention personal things, if he does object to people picking up on these things and talking about him, he needs to get over himself.

I think it would depend on just how much Dave disagrees with it being it discussed on here. If it is a flat out view that he thinks we are simply wrong to discuss it then I would disagree with him. If, on the other hand, he simply doesnt WANT to read it and it upsets him, but by the same token would defend our right to discuss what we like, then I accept that viewpoint.

Either way I dont really think he needs to get over himself. I do see your point though.

Woah, woah, woah. Let's just back that wagon up a minute. I'm more Greek than geek my friend and let me tell you, the closest I have come to having any Greek in me was that one time on holiday to Corfu and a local barman was attempting to break up a fight I was in, and I swear he tried to stick a finger up my tradesman's.

The site gets two mentions in the book so far, and not really in a contemptuous context, although he does say that we discussed his divorces in minute detail.

I read the first 10 pages on amazon and thought it looked promising, but when I had a browse through it in WHSmith yesterday it looked like there was just a load of filler in it. Putting hundreds, if not thousands of twitter names in it is ridiculous.

I'm not sure whether Dave's career is dependant on having public support, ie fans, at all. People have suggested that its actually dependant on the patronage of Chris Moyles, and that without him, Dave Vitty wouldn't have a career at all. But like I said, I don't know about that.

ok. From what i have read on here that dave is very negative towards the people of cm.net and is because of the divulging of his divorce with jayne. Could i point out a reason as to why dave may hate the site.
Not from any of my recolection of the shows since dave's divorced was said through the papers and twitter has DAVE OR ANYONE ON THE CMS MENTIONED ANYTHING TO DO WITH DAVE'S DIVORCE.
Dave has not said anything on the matter and the thread that gave alot of info that was uncalled for in my opinion. And the ones Including the sickening posts saying chris was getting with jayne on holiday why dave was in london doing the show with sara.
Would you be happy that a private matter that you wanted to keep quiet. And did not speak of on air. Being broadcast on the fansite of the presenter and the show. When none of you know the facts.
Dave probably was very disheartened by the comments that were made. Very uncalled for.
In truth. The thread shouldn't of even been created. And who can blame dave for being as cold as he is to the people of the fansite.

Cancelled due to unprecedented apathy.

Poor Dave. I sort of feel for him, it must suck to have such a poor turnout. It may reflect the sales of the book, but if the book sales are strong, it may also reflect the fact that Dave was banned from mentioning the book and signings on the show. Chris managed to at least get some oblique references (maybe more) to his book signings on the show.

Dave clearly hates this place because 3 people may have dropped in some comments mentioning him in either a positive, neutral or curious manner.
He really needs to get over himself. If you appear on a show when you talk about yourself (to some degree), do not be surprised when people might be interested in your life when you are off the air. If you don't want to be in the public eye, stay behind the scenes.

I bought the hardback editions of both of Chris' books on day one, but have no interest in Dave's book as he has made it clear he did not want it to be autobiographical, so I'm not at all surprised in the lack of interest. Why on earth "cash in" on your "celebrity" status and then not want include anything autobiographical. What is the book about? I read the first dozen or so pages on the Amazon site and the introduction included several pages about how hard it was to write a book (skipped, that's clearly filler) and then some brief biographical info. What else is in there?

Is it rehashed stuff he wrote for the show?

If it included a lot of material about R1, Chris, the show and maybe a little about his marriages (nothing salacious), I'd buy it. The reason these celeb books (mostly biographies) are so popular, is that people are interested in their lives. If you don't share that, it's far less likely people will be interested.

100% agree with everything said here.

I would like to read an autobiography of Dave just because of his some what promiscuous love life (I bet he's put it about alot, even while he was technically married).

pull your tongue out of Dave's arsehole.

This is a Chris Moyles Show Fansite and Dave is a huge part of the show.
As fans of the show, we like to discuss members of the team.
They live their lives on air, especially between 6:30 & 7:00.
Dave thinks of himself as a celebrity, therefor he can't moan when people discuss his private life.

simple fact is, he can't have it both ways.

He wasn't cold to me. He shook my hand and said it was nice to meet me, put his arm around,me for a photo, and thanked me for coming. That may just be how he's trained to act around fans, and I'll admit that he was nonplussed when I said I'm from here, but I've had celebs be cold towards me when they think that they're too important to be nice to theatre staff, and he wasn't cold.

Also, if you've read the book you will know that Dave makes no mention of our discussions about his split from Jayne. He does talk for a paragraph about the thread from the time when he split from Emma, though. He states that it's "all part of living in the public eye" and that he "finds it fascinating that people are that interested". So if he really wanted to mention the Jayne thread, I'm sure he would have.

A couple of the posts on this thread have over stepped the mark. As the clown posting them rather contradictorily pointed out, this is a fansite. Wild, speculative and offensive comments about members of the show have no place here in my opinion.

I am all for discussing facts so long as we do it sensibly, but that isnt the case here.
