The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

First of all, glad that the team is back even though I was actually quite enjoying listening to the early breakfast shows when it first started. I said on another thread that I liked the Buzz Off feature and got a bit excited, as I thought he was going to bring it back only to say he isn't but instead do Classical Class! I really hope this is not going to go on until Christmas because I just feel that part of the show feels empty without a proper feature whether it is Buzz Off, String Ring, Where Am I? or Celebrity Raspberry and as much as I am not a fan of the last one, I would rather have it than this especially if it is going to be the same track 5 times a week. Maybe I am overreacting a little but just would have preferred something better than what we got.

Feel free to agree or disagree.

Are we allowed to not particularly care either way?

I overslept so missed all what you are talking about. When I did switch on the guest was Alan Sugar.. again! I turned straight off and didn't tune back in.

I prefer slot's that involve the GBP as they are always good for a laugh.

I don't see how Sting Ring was any more of a feature than Classical Class is to be honest.

When was Classical Class last done? Dave was saying 7 years ago but I'm sure he's wrong. I've only listened to each show in its entirety on the internet since February '06, and only started listening at all in late 2005, but I'm sure Classical Class was still a regular feature around early 2006? :?

I thought it was too. For almost all of 2006 I was doing a long commute and as soon as I heard it today it immediately took me back to being on that hellish early morning coach.

Maybe saying Sting Ring was a bad example perhaps but it is a more involved feature since people rung/text in etc to get a Sting song to wake them up or whatnot. I just hope we don't get this until Christmas like I said.

It's no more of a feature than McFly day.

If they played a different track each day, named it, explained it, told us a bit about the composer then that would be a feature. It doesn't have to go all Radio 4; it could still be entertaining.

Playing the same classical track around the same time every day for however long is the height of tripe.

Can anyone tell me how long Classical Class ran last time please?

To answer earlier questions about when it was on they did it on the show that I uploaded yesterday, which was February 8th 2006.

I thought as much! I wonder why they're under the impression it was so much longer ago than that. Essentially what it demonstrates is that we have much better recollection of things that have happened on the show than the team themselves do :)

Wasen't a listener when this feature was on first. Can't say I'm a fan based on 2 days listening. Just seems to be background music to a link, or is that the point of it?

It's great to not have to be moaning about Westwood for a change, other people's turn. :)

To be honest, any of the 'old' features, such as sting ring, classical class and buzz off have no lastability. The only one worth bringing back is Viaduct, but that doesn't seem to get mentioned as a possible replacement at all

Viaduct is ALWAYS the answer. I also like the word 'lastability'.

In my opinion 7:20 is a gear change not a moment for a full blown game like Viaduct.

I was a fan of Buzz Off. At the moment Classical Class is on for this week. We'll see where it goes at the end of the week.

At least it's not 100% ruled out. Perhaps a Children in Need Viaduct fund might help swing the deal

Do not see the point of playing classical music and you are all talking over it.

I agree with that. I don't think it would work so early on. I have no issue with Classical Class in itself, but I do agree that it might be nice if they played some different pieces of music rather than the same one every day. Although I wonder if that would set some people off complaining that the show was becoming a bit Radio 3.
