I've listened to a fair bit of Nick Grimskaw covering for Scott Mills this past fortnight and I think he has been excellent, especially this week with Becky. I would be more than happy for him to cover for Chris.

If I can put up with the dire, ancient music I think I will give Chris Evans a try that week.

I knew Chris would be taking 2 weeks off in October as usual, but the interestring th ing about that schedule is that Nick Grimshaw is sitting in for Scott Mills instead of Sara Cox.This indicates that Nick is being lined up for a daytime show of his own and until then wil be the main stand in for Scott on drivetime, and maybe other daytime sh ows too. We can probably expect the new controller to announce some schedule changes as soon as he/she takes over, although I would be surprised if Scott was taken off drivetime just yet.I think he'll last a couple of years yet ,but Nick is probably favourite to take over when he does move on.

I don't get why everyone loves Grimmy so much. He's ok, but I can't stand the whole camden cool thing. he's no better than Mills in my opinion, who really isn't as bad as everyone makes out.

See it really annoys me when that happens to me, cos I don't go away or anything, so part of the luxury of having time off work is to lie in bed and listen to all of the show.

Now that you mention that... bah humbug! I've certainly done that in the past and didn't even think about it for Oct.

Is it 2 weeks or 1 which they're gonna be off? Just wondering if I need to ration my "show a day" listening on train to work and back home.

Oh FFS, couldn't they have got Coxy in, hell I even prefer Div to Mills (I've been waking up at 5:15am of recent, starting work early as I have a big project on, don't bother me I'm getting plenty of Wonga for it :))

Good timing... I'll be redundant by then and have no reason to be getting up before 1100...!

To be fair Chris, Dave & Dom are all freelance so can't they technically take as many holidays as they want, as long as they give the BBC notice (not sure how it works, we have no freelance workers in our office).

Make that two weeks off - same schedule for the 15th. Only thing I can think off for the extra holiday is they're not taking much time off over christmas
