Mattew Fincham ~ Assistant producer to the show.
~
Really? Matt? Is this what your put on your application?..
Is that what you said in your interview?..
.."I'm a producer."
~
Or maybe you thought you were 'funny' enough to be an active member of the show.
A show full of professional (Vitty an exception) funnies.
Wel, Matt, your not.
Your not in the least bit funny.
Also a sexist, the way you once spoke to Tina was effing disgusting.

Enjoy your free, gravy train fuelled ride on the BBC (taxpayer), but please think about your future.

I just don't like your participatory role in the CLASSIC that is the Chris Moyles Show.

He's the assistant producer. Chris is the one that invites him (or anyone else) to take part in on-air chats, so Chris makes the decision as to whether he's "funny enough" to be on the show. What exactly did he say to Tina that offended you so much?

Also: you don't like Dave. You don't like Matt. You don't like Chris' timekeeping. You don't like the Golden Hour. Why exactly are you listening again?

Perhaps you're right. I still want to know what this outrageously sexist comment was. I'm very surprised that such a thing would escape my notice, having an MA in women's studies and all.
#447633
This is why I dont like the stick Matt gets on-air by the team. I know it's jovial banter and everyone with a brain knows it's jovial banter, but the hard of thinking get caught up in it and think he is just a pointless buffoon.

I am not a particular fan of his and I wouldnt bat an eyelid if he left the show, but he plays a small role on-air and I am quite sure he is perfectly adept at his role as assistant producer, or he would have been fired long before now.

He must be on about the "come to daddy" quip.
#447635
To me this thread smacks of MENTION ME ON AIR. Would you be prepared to say those things to Matt in person I wonder???

Matt is a great member of the team. Very clear he 'gets' the show and the way he leaves the rest of the team to poke fun at him adds to the entertainment. Some of the features he's put together have been cracking!

Was 'come to daddy' not aimed at Sam and Laura (formerly of Scott's show)?...

I think the OP has just decided it's appropriate for him to dispense advice to the various members of the team about their roles on the show and actions within it, I wouldn't take too much notice. "Please think about your future" - ha! Like a particularly patronising high school careers counsellor. In addition to whether he'd talk to Matt that way in person, I'm wondering what he does that makes him so qualified to advise Radio 1 staff.

You may be right. I remembered it as being Sam and Tina. God knows what he is on about if it isnt that then.

Yes.
he was very abrupt to Tina, In a 'I'm a man, your a woman', sexist way.
About six, seven months ago.
If only I could ask Tina, she's know what I was on about, trust me.

I like Matt, I think he gets too much stick, he has been picked on so much (especially by Chris & Dave) right from the start its not that funny anymore (not that it ever really was)
To me he seems a very friendly genuine man, why is so much teasing heaped on him, fine when he started but he's been here for a good while now, let it go Chris.

You can't judge Matt by what is said on-air. His role, primarily, isn't part of the on-air team, it's part of the production team and he's good at his job or he wouldn't still be on the flagship show for Radio 1.

Let's judge you QWERTYo8, just from your public comments on here; you're a grump, rude and ignorant. What is YOUR point?

Oi! With all due respect, shut up.

Every listener has a right to their opinion, but no-one has a right to personal attacks, especially uninformed ones.

For the record, I invited him on air to do two links (Leeds and Liverpool) that reflected the message of the show very well. Every decision Freya and I make is run by Chris to ensure his buy-in so you can also add Chris to the list of people that wants Matt to do what he does.

Matt is an Assistant Producer and he does that role very well. In my view The Chris Moyles show has a very strong production team, and the strength of show is a reflection of that. That is what Matt is paid to do. It's extra to our roles that we talk on air.

No-one on The Chris Moyles Show is sexist. The BBC would not allow sexist people to broadcast on air or behave in that way in the office.

Please stop it with the attention seeking threads because they hurt the team you claim to love and cause damage.

Well said Aled.Matt plays a big role in the show in my opinion and if he is ever promoted to a producer role on another show he will be sorely missed, though it will be a well deserved promotion when it comes.
#447676
Well said Aled.

Can't understand why posts like that can't be deleted. Constructive opinions on show features etc is one thing but posts like that are anything but...

Pity if we see all of cm.net get tarred with the same brush again.

This site has always been largely self-moderating. Which means that if someone says something idiotic, he will promptly be called out by other forum members (of which Aled is one), and hopefully get tired of posting crap after a while. If you read the forum rules, there's nothing against threads like this, so we can't delete them as and when we don't agree with the sentiments expressed. Admittedly sometimes I'd like to, but that's not my job!

(Edited to add, I agree with everything Aled said!)
