We had the best chips I've ever eaten over the weekend. By a long way.

SiriusXM will also broadcast concerts from the extensive and wide-ranging BBC Radio archive, many of which are not commercially available. SiriusXM listeners will hear classic performances by Led Zeppelin, U2, Lady Gaga, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Duran Duran, Queen, The Cure and other music legends. The concerts will air on various SiriusXM music channels.

Damn it why can't we have a station like this that plays all those legends in concert (Lady Gaga is not a legend, she's only been round 5 minutes, the rest are) I'd really enjoy that one, better than Crapital, Kiss & Heart

Also: Due South>Monk

The Prince Of Wales in Ilford has lovely chips & food in General (Gastro Pub of the year again in East London), if you ever have the misfortune of visiting Ilford (arrive & leave quickly) then pop in that pub :)

At least if Chris keeps mentioning the Sirius mess maybe the beeb and SiriusXM might do something more pro-active to getting them back in cars throughout the US and Canada! I am in if there is a campaign to be involved in!

Greetings from the Great White North:

Re the in-ness of any and all XMR bring-back-the-beeb campaign

Yes. Quite.

I have called XMR three times, threatened twice, quit once (and begged her to check the box wherein if XMR comes back to car radios to "CALL ME!") and also shared my personal, edited for family viewing opinion about XMR decision with the PR person at XMR.

I paid about $600 dollars to listen to Chris Moyles. And at $600 a year, it was worth it. I got to and from work, stuck in traffic, snow storms and waited in Tim Horton's line ups with Chris and the team. It was worth it. I realize that BBCR1 is free in the UK. But still ... I forked over cash because I got value for my dollar. I told every person at XMR that they were the only station I listened to and that the "alternate music choices" they gave me demonstrated that they did not get why I listened. It is NOT because of the music.

If there is a campaign, let me know. I too am in. Do please post details here.

Greetings from the Great White North:

Dude ... I *so* feel your pain. Driving just SUCKS now. Well ... semi-sucks because I have podcasts.

But they are not the same ... Not.The.Same!

Seriously ... cramming a week into one podcast? Not fair! Part of the fun is the rambling detours, the rants, the air time filled up with giggles and snorts and sound effects that are momentarily lost.

Sigh ... I feel like the whole of Great Britain has forsaken us ...

Cheers and best regards from across the pond

Monk.

Was monk a short lived programme about a private dick?

Hmm, it seems it wasn't.

Does anyone remember the name of a shortlived TV series about a private dick, it was set in the 50s or 60s, he drove a convertible, looked quite handy and smoked a lot.

When I see photos of my dad from the 60s/early 70s he looks like Jason King.

Apologies for the delayed reply - it wasn't Jason King, it was an American show - possibly from the "Cover Up" era of TV possibly a little later.

May have been set in the late 40s or 50s now I think of it - lead bloke was possibly a scandalised cop who had to quit and then became a PI. The main things I remember were it was mainly night time, he wore a trenchcoat, he drove one of those big cars similar to the ones from Grease - but black.

Anyway.

Simples:

Get this:
http://www.nerdoftheherd.com/tools/radiodld/

And one of these:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sandisk-Cruzer- ... 803&sr=1-1

And amalgamate them with this:

Being in America you can listen to the days show, on the day, as Chris finishes 'early' for you guys. As soon as you wake start that days show downloading, by the time you've cleansed etc it'll be done, transfer to stick, put in car, enjoy. If you really wanted to get carried away, you could time shift to match the time your journey starts.

Seems from the brief discussion on today's show that a lot of people are listening via the webapp. Although if you're in the car I imagine that'd be very difficult, unless you want to shell out a ton for a data plan. The US wireless and ISP industry is messed up.

I'll tell you what I do. I have ooTunes on my iPhone which I can schedule to record the show which starts at 12:30 am Central time. However, you have to leave the app up before you go to sleep, so if you don't then you are out of luck. In that case, I also have TuneIn where you can find the show on the iPlayer if they have put the show up yet. Most days they have it up by 7 am CT, but some days they don't.

All this being said, it's MUCH better and easier when they had on it on SiriusXM since it was the whole channel...

I drive home listening to Danny Baker on Radio London from time to time - I connect with one of those 3 mi-fi pebble things, 15gb a month for 20 quid. Couple of hours of 'radio' is about 100mb (it's got a counter on the dial)

I don't know if this has been mentioned, and if it's been mentioned then I apologise, but is everyone aware that the BBC is launching a non-UK movement, which will supply a subscription based 'on demand' content service in all non-UK countries.

As Sirius is time shifted, technically it's not broadcast live - possibly making it fall under the jurasdiction of this new service.

This could be part of tying up loose ends in terms of content, in preparation for the BBC going live with their new service? (no help, i know - but may be interesting to know why!)
