Is he famous enough to release an autobiography? It would be a good read though if he's honest and brings up everything, including his divorces and goes into detail.

He has said on Twitter that he is infact writing a book, so as already mentioned - it would be a interesting read.

If not just to see if he's managed to cover anything from the old TV & radio shows they did (UK Play and then C5 shows).

There's no point in him writing a book unless he is going to be completely open about everything - and I don't see how he can be. Chris's books were okayish because even though the stuff we REALLY wanted to hear about wasn't allowed to be written, there was enough other stuff to keep you at least part-interested. I don't think Dave's career and life - unless he is really going to spill proper beans about them - are interesting enough to sustain the kind of self-censorship he will probably be required to practice.

I read that tweet but I didn't 'look into it' more than that. Just goes to show how little I pay attention to what's going on my Twitter feed.

The book is already on amazon for £11.69:
Comedy Dave's Book [Hardcover]

Product Description
In a world where autobiographies are written by 21 year olds and Paris Hilton is considered a bestselling author, how difficult can it be to write a book? These days it seems that the world and his wife are churning out books in order to cynically cash in on the lucrative Christmas market, so Radio One's Comedy Dave has decided to do just that. His first attempt at being a proper writer is a collection of questions, theories, short stories, poems, pictures, and anecdotes all tediously linked together in his own charming style. It's unlikely to win the Pulitzer Prize for literature, but it will give you a bit of a giggle while you're sat on the toilet. 'If you don't buy this book you're just stupid' Chris Moyles, Radio 1 DJ

About the Author
14 years at BBC Radio One and still getting away with it, Dave has been Chris Moyles right hand man for a long time now and become a household name to more than 8 million people. They've done the show everywhere from London to Lisbon and New York to Newcastle and along the way have met and interviewed the biggest stars in the world. In 2009 The Chris Moyles Show became the longest running Radio One breakfast show of all time, and the long awaited Parody album was finally released, topping the charts in 32 countries, and became the biggest selling album of the decade.* Add to all that, a stint on Dancing on Ice, the only thing left to achieve is global domination. Totally untrue.

I hope he does an audiobook version. Chris reads his own books in the audiobook versions and it feels like Chris is telling you his stories. It really adds that extra layer which I think would work really well with something Dave would put out.

As others have said, it'll only be worth a read if he spills the beans about his divorces etc. I know it's none of our business but the general public are nosey by nature, of corse we want to know!

Plus it's no secret that Dave likes to put it about, and I'm sure there are plenty of stories from his time on the road, and how his two marriages 'overlapped' (allegedly)

But I don't think he will, would he really want his daughter, family and friends knowing that stuff? Personally I wouldn't. That just leaves his career that isn't that interesting.

Sounds like it will be less an autobiography and more an attempt at a comedy book. Either way I think I agree with G-sizzle.

FFS is this a wind up? Seriously?

I know Vitty is desperate for cash due to yet another woman realising the error of her ways but is he so deluded that he thinks some dweeb of a sidekick with zero personality is stuff of a book!?

This is going to keep me laughing all day.

Nice try Vitty. Really.

Maybe we should see what the book is and how it sells before deciding how nice of a try it actually is...

I'd buy it, and probably will. there are much worse books available.

The bible, for one.

But what are you basing 'it looks crap' on? The description?

Dave is a very good comedy writer in my opinion, most of the song parodies are by him, and a lot of the comedy in the Chris Moyles Show comes from him. OK, he's no Eddie Braben or Ronnie Barker.

I suppose we'll just have to wait and see the end product.

But what is funny on air isn't funny written down. No one reads the lyrics to Lunch In This Pub and laughs (mind you I dont think many do when it is sung either). And King Of Tickets wouldn't exactly be a lot of laughs in text format either!!

I like Lunch In This Pub. And No Hair is better still. How can you not laugh at "he's balder than the day that he was born, he's got more skin up there than Willie Thorne"?
