The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I agree, actually. I would say the show isn't as near as good as it was a year, perhaps two years ago but I still download the podcasts. I don't tend to listen live because there's too much music!

Your not the only one that is missing him and the team already. My day feels disjointed when my alarm goes off and i don't put the radio on to listen to the gang. Even when its early evening and i go to get the the edited version of the show that Ian does and there is not one, its like argh i need my fix. Chris and the team are like a drug in a way you need your regular fix and when its not there you miss them. I think that makes me really sad.

Good Lord!

I hated it then, what chance I'll like it now.

I tried Scott for about 30 minutes on Monday had to give up and turned back to Radio 3, if he as the drive time host is meant to be (theoretically) the second best thing on the daytime schedule then Chris could be on Breakfast until 2020 :D no wonder he's got a contract until 2014.

I agree with dreamer1978 it messes with your routine to start with, although I've quickly got in to the habit of listening to Today until 8 and then Radio 3 until 10. One thing that's still as bad as ever is the 5 Live Breakfast phone in which is the other show I have tried this week.

Will give Sara and Dave a go next week but the 22nd can't come quick enough!

With Chris off been mostly scanning through the channels.
I find Scott hard to enjoy, just don't get PR4L and the excitement for one direction this morning coming in was ott uless your a teenage girl. Edinburgh fatigue a issue too.
Chris Evans, would be good if the tunes played weren't so old. I'm sure when I'm 40 and driving a Volvo I'll listen properly...
Capital is not bad at all, Vaughan is good when allowed to talk but they only ever seem 30 seconds away from the next song. A negative in that only songs from the past couple of months seem to be played=a lot of mediocre pop records getting airtime.
Absolute is my top pick. Christian O'Connell is a good listen with a decent set of tunes in between. No Moyles but a very good broadcaster.
Would have wanted to try Today on R4 with all the problems in London this week but my phone radio cant find it and I don't know the frequency! :D

On the way home, as usual, really enjoying Sara Cox. Looking forward to next week after how brilliant her previous breakfast stint was.

I disagree. His initials aren't 'COC' for nothing, it's a perfect description of him. I don't like him at all. I'd rather listen to microphone feedback for four hours than him.

I've tried & tried this week to listen to him but I just can't get into him, sorry, he can't seem to hold a link together at all he'll be mid conversation & they introduce a song at random, he had at least 5 songs between 6:30-7:00, that's not what Breakfast show hosts should be like, Moyles, Wogan, Tarrant, O'Connell, Pete & Geoff, Dr Fox, Russ & Jono, Bam Bam & Streetboy, Jamie & Harriet, for example are all current or past Breakfast shows where they have music and banter, most have several links an hour which go on for about 5 minutes, One of Mills' this morning lasted less than a minute (I only knew that because from the moment he spoke to the moment he played the next tune the time hadn't changed. So glad Coxy is on with Dave next week, don't think I could stomach two weeks of Mills.

I think the 5 songs between 6:30-7:00 pretty much shows I made the right choice in not listening to him this week. I don't dislike him like some people do but for a breaksfast host even if it is filling in to play too much music during the show is not something I can get into especially when I think most of the playlist they play on there is crap. They still * play I Gotta Feeling from Black Eyed Peas, which is probably the only song from 09 they still play currently.

Although saying that, Chris has been a bit guilty of that sometimes as well. I was listening to his birthday show from last year last night at work and it seemed to me a lot of music was played there (more than usual) anyway since some of the links didn't go on for minutes at a time like they usually do. I did enjoy that show nonetheless because of the guests surprises (didn't think much of this year mainly because it was a Friday show).

I have the misfortune of switching the radio on to help me through washing up in the kitchen sometimes, and daytime radio 1 is just so * bland, and they still play that 'Gives you Hell' suburban crap. I usually channel hop though, tried to get into 6music but nope it's just a bunch of wannabes chatting about random stuff and is not interesting in the slightest. I mean of course, I'm heavily into Moyles, but when it comes to something lighthearted during the day I haven't found the right musical mix on a station yet.
