I have to admit I am a culprit of that one and I really don't know why I do it as I am always quite uptight about grammar myself.

It's a common mistake, but that's no excuse really. It's just another rule you have to learn. For years I got confused between 'its' and 'it's' - eventually I just looked it up and memorised the difference.

Also, the OP has over 100 posts, so he's not a newbie really. Can his thinking that by posting here he's directly addressing Mr Moyles be excused, do we think?

Me too. I once read an insignificant little piece on the development of written language and it suggested that the use of the apostrophe in written English was redundant anyway. Now I don't agree with this but in the case of "its" and "it's" I have latched on to it and I'm holding on until I drown.

I used to get confused when an apostrophe wasn't used in 'its' to show ownership but then I heard someone say apparently 'its' is the exception to the rule of using apostrophes in that was, so I only ever use it to shorten 'it is' now. I think that's right anyway.

See? There are various views, so I am subscribing to the one that says don't use them at all. That way at least I know where I am.

Yeah, we've definitely had the its/it's discussion at some point in the past. I've just had an official appraisal sheet at work that had who's/whose mixed up - shocking. :)

Quite possibly not, but like I said, I saw it written in a supposedly learned article, so I'm clinging on for dear life.

Have you been at the special brew? Those in the off licence that are 79p a can (yes in some off licences in London you can still get cans of crap beer for under 99p) are that price for a reason ;)

I'm no teenage drinker. But I know plenty. Not really friends with any of them but I certainly know who they are.

Judging by your recent posts I don't think it's Chris' ale consumption you need to be worried about...

Ah the joys of teenage drinking, downing a bottle of Orange Mad-Dog 20/20 or blue label Thunderbird down the golf course.
Staggering about trying to 'winch' any girl that would let you near them and try to grab a boob or even better get a 'Dom & Cameron'.
Doing garden runs and hedge diving trying to avoid the police taking you home.
Chips & cheese, mints, parental deception then bed.
Best avoided R94N, best avoided.
