Meh, just the ones speculating about his income and how he's spending it in regard to alimony and child maintenance etc, as well as the whole furore about how he should be grieving for his father.

It's not Aled's business to try to set boundaries as to what people on an unofficial fan site can and can't discuss, though. Dave would have the option of legal action against the forum if he felt that anything libellous had been said, but apart from that it's entirely down to Chris (Harris). As already mentioned, nobody has said anything in this thread that contravenes forum rules, although I think several posts do overstep the mark in terms of respecting Dave's privacy.

I just think that Aled will obviously know to what extent we have gone too far and if he thinks that we have then out of respect for Dave then we should listen to Aled cause to be honest we don't really want to piss Dave off, but then again as has been said he should expect it to be spoken about.

Apparently, all the team come on here from time to time. Yes, Dave had read recently. The team to a certain extent accept that this shit will happen, and that there will always be 'less friendly' contributions - But do sometimes find it very hard, as they are real fecking people too, and some offerings can overstep the mark. They also recognise that when cm.net gets mentioned on teh air, the site often gets a flood of ne members who post something controvertial to try to get their 5 mins of fame as Chris slags 'em on air.

And did this thread get a mention?

Everyone knows how to contact me in the event they would like something to be removed from the site. It has happened (very rarely) in the past.

Providing no laws have been broken my general approach to moderation is that less is more - this place does self-moderate well. Where people cross a line they are usually swiftly countered by others. People having and sharing differing opinions is what makes this place interesting.

I'm guessing he means of when Dave referred to the thread on air?

Ah, you do it if you get a chance, please. I'm too busy trying to find birthday presents for my brother at the moment, which is highly tedious and time-consuming.

Tbh on second thoughts it should already be in there as it was discussed when they were talking about the forum members going down but I'll see if i can chop it down further if i get time

Is this good enough. Go to about 30 seconds in and then also about 3 minutes and 10 seconds in. If its not good enough I can chop it down further if you like.

Ah, yes he did sound rather dis-pleased with some topics discussed on this thread.

To make it clear, i didnt create this thread to upset Dave or anyone accociated with the situation he's in, it was just a mere coincidence (or psychic abilities) that i posted it.

I imagine that Dave's sad time at his marriage breaking up put him in mind of other sad times, ie, his dad dying. I don't know what his dad died of, but as Dave is the same age as me his dad must have been of the same generation, so that would have put him at around 45-55 when he died - very young. Something like that would stay with you forever.

I don't want to drag up the whole Dave and Jayne thing again, this just seemed like the most appropriate recent thread to post in given that the death of Dave's dad had been mentioned in it. I follow Dave on twitter and he posted these messages today;

Last weekend I raced at Silverstone in a celeb event to raise funds for the Bobby Moore fund & have been set the challenge of raising £2000.

It's a cause close to my heart as I lost my dad to bowel cancer, so if you could help out with just a couple a quid that would be amazing!

The page for donations is http://www.justgiving.com/comedydave for anyone who wants to help him out. I know that bowel cancer is being increasingly diagnosed in both men and women, so personally I think it's a cause well worth giving a few quid to.

Just thought I'd let people know about it anyway.

Just reviving this thread as I have recently been going through all old podcasts. i'm currently 'alf way through '07.

Some of the show material featuring Dave; a few divorce insights and some beautiful moments with him and Jayne. Has been quite sad to listen to, as unlike others who've posted here I don't believe Dave is the unlivable person some make him out to be, and listening to how genuinely happy the two of them sounded, just seems a shame its all gone south. Poor Dave, bless 'im.

I agree, 07 & 08 podcasts come on my mp3 player via shuffle sometimes during work and while I am in town and listening to them both, you wouldn't believe that in 3-4 years time, it would end up the way it is. Like they had a daughter together so they loved each other that much to have a child. I saw Jayne in the audience in last week's Chris Moyles Quiz Night just to be a bit OT.

I was watching the web cam from when peter andre came in after his split with katie and dave was giving him divorce advice - it was sad but sweet really.
