The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Just wanted to say, I cannot believe the change there is in Chris from Radio Luxemburg to Radio 1! It is amazing to listen to the change from then to now and how he slowly turns into the voice he is today. Don't know what other people think, but from the clips of him on capital, sounds like he has calmed down a lot now! Thank you to whoever put those clips up on here, excellent to listen to!

Same! I like both Chris'es and even though he calmed down a lot over the years, he still pretty much remains the same :) Just not as risqué as before but he still comes up with a lot of funny ideas and radio material (stuff to talk about)

His voice is a lot lower though! That'll be all those fresh air breaks he takes ;) But strangely, when I listen to old shows to transcribe Tedious Links, I notice that Dave's voice seems to have gone higher. He speaks a lot faster in the Links now too.

You're welcome regarding the two Capital FM shows, still can't believe I nearly threw these out five years ago (due to space constraints & computer technology of the time) because it seems they're the only two shows that exist, well the first half at least, everything else from his Capital FM shows are odd clips and nothing else.

Do you reckon it is lower or over the years he's added more bass to the mix?

It appears to me, when they do outside broadcasts etc. he sounds higher again.

I have no idea! I imagine the deepness has something to do with fags and age! Is this going to turn into a thread about the deepness of voices.....?!

The old show in the archive from 1997 when he just started on Radio 1 is quite difficult to listen to. He just will not stop talking, but that could be because he was overexcited about starting on Radio 1. Thankfully he got better as he got older.

Quite a set of names they were too. Not a Robert or a Brian in sight.

Ha. Had a few names I was going to put down, so for me to plump for Brian and it's MM's real name, must say has tickled me a little bit.
