Of course he is. He must be a ruddy great bloke to have taken the time to answer my questions in such detail. Thank you very much for doing that Aled. I haven't heard today's show yet, so I don't know if you mentioned it on air, but you must all have been pleased to get a good review (for once!). Many congratulations, it's well deserved.

I was agreeing, and I also agree with that!

They posted the breakfast review idea on their blog on the Monday and listed who would be reviewed and on which day so it was out there on public display.

There is no right or wrong answer to the question as to whether Chris should have been told.

Knowing obviously changed the show - and that was inevitable because the show is transparent like that and Chris wears his heart on his sleave. But as Producer, and Chris' support, I'd feel uncomfortable going into a show where Chris was being judged so publicly, knowing this was happening and not tell him. If Chris had done something however minor that he probably wouldn't have wanted to do had he known it would be discussed and recorded publicly and analyzed under a microscope and he found out that the one person he could trust knew about it - I think that would have been an erosion of that trust and not something I would want.

Also, with it being public people could have quite easily tweeted / text Chris during the show and that would have been more unsettling to have learnt during rather than before and raised questions of why his support at Radio 1 didn't know about it.

I actually thought Tuesday's show was stunning - sounded to me as though Chris raised his game because of the increased scrutiny, he seemed more fired up because of it and it definitely came out on the air.

Aled, do you see Radio 1 moving away from text messages as the primary way to contact the shows in the near/distant future, for say tweets or some online integration? Twitter has been getting a bigger part of the Chris Moyles Show, for better or worst so was wondering if you see a point coming where it overtakes SMS? Or do you think it'll be a long time before a transition like that is made? Are they even considered alternatives or two very different ways of communicating?

We're ahead of the game on social networking on the show - so we're trying some stuff out to see what works. Twitter may/may not be it - Facebook is an arse to work with - maybe there'll be another format that will end up being the main way to communicate with us.

I must admit though, the idea of spending 10 - 12p to communicate with us is already feeling like old technology so I can't imagine people holding onto SMS for long if there's better ways of doing it.

Is the Twitter feed 'open' as you announced last week every day to read from? Is it realistic to expect Chris/the team to see tweets being sent to the show account at the moment like it is with texts? Admittedly I don't use the short number so the texts come out of my bundle so I'm happy to do either :P (but I do love a bit of Twitter)

It's a couple of pages pack but I just want to say I also think Greg James would be brilliant on the musical tastes game, just make sure someone picks an Ellie Goulding track. :-D

This is made tougher with live streaming through mobiles or TV - it's all the harder to get people tuning in.

I completely agree - which is why every now and then when I walk past influential member of our interactive team I say 'how long before we can stream to phones?' and they 'it's on it's way'.

Fingers crossed it's before the end of this year. That's when the numbers get proper silly and it becomes truly interactive.

I really liked it when you just had webcams left on and there wasn't anything in particular happening, but i've always wondered whether or not the team actually like this or whether they just put up with it. Did you like it, and would you like to possibly do it again in the future? I'd like to see it again. But i've noticed you try to keep everything fresh and not re-use old ideas often (we'll keep celebrity tarzan/raspberry out of this) so I'm guessing you wouldn't?

Hey Aled,

When will the show be off air for it's usual two week holiday this year? Usually the show finishes as I go on holiday so this year i'm guessing at last show on Friday 29th July and then being back on the air on Monday 15th August?

Hi Aled,

Its my Birthday on the 28th July will you give me a re-tweet on that day? I'll re-tweet you back on your birthday if you like? (I actually use facebook more but I know you already have too many Facebook friends so I figured I'd have a better chance of asking about twitter!)

If you could that would be great, If not... well... god loves a trier and all that! Loved the show and Adele this morning! Laughed so much then had to switch off for work :(

Thanks

Jason

Well of course If he said yes I could remind him nearer the time... Well that's if I even remember myself! Besides Aled might tell me to bog off anyway, I just thought i'd ask on here first... As long as your ok with that bm?

I know Aleds a busy guy with a hectic job, but I thought there was no harm in asking!

I dunno, first people asking Aled to read their private messages, now birthday requests! We're not at a pantomime y'know ;)

Aled,

Might seem a bit strange asking about a Christmas jingle in July, but I have always wondered, does Chris mix together Mariah Careys All I want for Christmas Extra Festive version and the Out of News bed each time he uses it or has it been mixed into the jingle itself?

Regards

Tom
