The fact that she's coming on the show after Dom's Adele means she must have some semblance of a sense of humour at least. I reckon she'll be good value on the show.

1st and last hit thankfully.

But it wasn't his last hit as Ambitions got to number 6 in the UK Top 40

I reckon she at least knows about it - it's fairly inconceivable that no one around her has heard it really.

So that's B*witched, Joe McElderry and a semi-naked Dave with a semi-wakened pink oboe as an avatar.

Ben, Benny, Benji-boy, you can tell us you know, we'll love you no matter what.

Man up, admit it.

You've got shite taste in music and a certain want about yourself when it comes to picking profile pics.

As previously discussed on another thread, with the exception of C'est La Vie (great tune), their career amounted to the equivalent of a fat lad on a pogo stick - noticeable and amusing to begin with but quickly ran out of steam.

i think 'hit' depends on your point of view. i dont think getting to number 6, with little/no airplay, and falling out of the chart faster than Rik Waller out of an plane, can be classed as a hit.

put an s on it, and you'd be on the right track.

No, it doesn't - a "hit" is a track which gets into the charts. Originally the Top 100 counted, but in these days of low single sales, the top 40 has become the benchmark. So if it gets into the top 40, its a hit. Even if its crap.

hit is like, Woo its a hit! big selling popular song ! HIT! yay! every song getting in the top 40 can't be a hit. nope. can't accept that.

Well like I said, its not really a case for debate - you can like it or lump it, that's how it is. That is the definition of a hit. I know exactly what you're saying though, its ridiculous really.

Does anybody else think Adele meeting Adele is going to be awkward and/or brilliant radio?

I like that song and quite frankly, I think it is best not to win X Factor because you will have a less than stellar career than a runner-up with the exception of Leona Lewis and maybe Shayne Ward. JLS I feel have done better than Alexandra Burke, Olly Murs has certainly done better than Joe McElderry and possibly Cher Lloyd might have a better career than Matt Cardle.

I don't care if anyone agrees with me or not but I rather listen to that than the music that tends to dominate the top 10 now. Stuff like David Guetta, Black Eyed Peas and the like. Katy Perry I like since she has catchy songs and plus I fancy her. Lady Gaga I like as well even though her new album isn't great. Also, no 1s are usually pop/dance stuff and that gets really boring. Current no 1 sucks and it's something you've heard a million times before but that goes to show that some people's taste in music is definiely not like my own.

And here's one for some people to get annoyed by but I love this song:

I'd hardly describe Shayne Ward as having a stellar career, and even Leona Lewis isn't doing that great. The only people who seem to have forged decent careers from pop reality shows are Will Young, Girls Aloud and JLS (well, so far).

Actually I think you're right on Leona Lewis since when is the last time she had a song out? Problem with her is she only does ballad stuff hence that is only going to cater to a certain audience who like that stuff only.

Yes, two of those examples you mentioned were winners and they are two rare examples where they have had decent careers by winning the show rather than being a runner-up. It goes all the way back to the Popstars series in that the runners-up ie Liberty X had a better career than Hearsay albeit not a stellar one but they were around for a few years at least. When Pop Idol was on, everyone was harping on about Gareth Gates and saying he will be the winner and he will the one that will have the successful career. What's he doing now? God only knows but it certainly isn't storming the charts with hit songs now.

That's why I think auditioning for X-Factor etc is an absolute waste of time if you actually plan to win it because history shows that winners from that show only have the limelight for up to a year after they won (if even that for some people). Best bet is get into the finals and try to lose and you'll have a better career than the winner. ;)

Gareth Gates has actually been touring in the Cameron Mackintosh production of Les Miserables, and is apparently excellent in it. So whilst it's not a pop career, he's probably doing alright for himself. He's married with a baby now too.
