...why would the show have 1000s

Newsbeat would have more as they have reporters all over the place and loads of researcher etc

They employ several thousand. If you think about it, they need a person to play each song, each jingle, each bed. Teams to control the lights and hold the microphones... Not to mention the 6 people it takes to Google the weather for each of Dom's reports.

Thousands.

Actually the answer is three - Chris, Dave and Dom. All the rest of the people who work on the show are employed by the BBC, not the Chris Moyles Show.

Don't forget the people who hunt the elephants that are needed so that each record they play can be fashioned from their tusks.

Or have they finally switched to Rhino horn?

But the Chris Moyles Show isn't a company. They are all employed by the BBC aren't they?

No, Chris, Dave and Dom are all freelance, and work for the BBC in much the same way as a journalist might work for several papers/magazines at once without being contractually bound to any particular one.

Hence how Chris is able to do the Breakfast Show and Quiz Night and Dom can do Newsbeat and ITV voiceovers, not to mention Dave and Coach Trip!
