The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I don't come on here that much, but I gotta disagree with everyone criticising the CPC thing.

I think it should never have been ditched in the first place, its funny to see people not getting blatantly obvious ones on those days when the callers arent the sharpest. They need to get rid of celebrity raspberry though, its a dreadful feature, at least Where Am I? had some humour with Westwood.

Oh, and as for bringing back Cheggers Plays Pop or whatever it was, I think I would rather drill through my own ear drums than listen ot that again ;)

You should come on here more often. We are not saying ditch CPC ! It's the fact that the same 2 blokes have been on for the last 3 week's and it's boring.

I love CPC but I am turning off as soon as the music comes on :(

Do not know what Chris is playing at ?

Hang on. YOU asked him to resolve it?

Who are you, precisely?

And what gives you the authority to speak for everyone else?

Correct.

DarroM wrote:Heck, I can take a good, funny running gag etc

No, you can't. As you're proving.

DarroM wrote:this isn't funny and just makes listening to CPC a bit of a chore now whenever they go to the contestants after Roy's banter even if they don't talk much. The fact they don't start until near 5 to 10 doesn't help matters either. Yes I am moaning but I am entitled to my opinion as is yourself and at the end of the day, we disagree with each other and let's just end it at that then.

How about if you tell me it's boring, and it's a chore, I'll tell you you're wrong and to stop moaning.

It's become a parody? Because presumably it wasn't a parody of "Catchphrase" before it came back?

It was, in effect, Radio 1's answer to University Challenge, but slightly more serious and cerebral?

Yeah i did tweet that from my own personal twitter account. When you are contacting someone on a social media site you are talking from your own account is a personal message between you and the recipient. You are not speaking on behalf of everyone, you are speaking on behalf of yourself as its part of a conversation. I hope you get it as i am NOT speaking on behalf of people who don't like the current situation. I was speaking to my voicing OWN personal opinion on it. I know people that like the current situation but i am not one of them. From what it seems that you don't like that i voiced my opinion to Aled on the situtation well its a free country aren't we allowed our opinion and to voice it openly. We don't live in a dictatorship.

So when you said we, who was the we you were talking about?

Personally I'd only use the word "we" if I was talking about, or on behalf of a number of people.

I don't like people talking about things either as fact, or as though they're talking on behalf of me when they're not.

And it seemed to me that you were trying to make out 'everyone' (ie 'we') thought it was getting annoying.

If you meant to write "Can I please have a Carpark Catchphrase resolution as I'm beginning to find it annoying now" then fair enough.

Personally I am finding this whole conversation a lot more interesting and entertaining than Carpark Catchphrase.

If slightly pointless as CPC situation is changed anyway!

I wasn't saying they're not allowed to, just that they should stop...

I'm merely presenting another side to a moan - a side that says "Hang on, just because you don't like it, doesn't mean everyone doesn't, so turn that frown upside down and cheer up."

Luckily, I won't need to moan about it for your displeasure anymore since Marc is off it after 3 weeks or longer so at least, we will get something different for the first time in 3 weeks (well we did with Andy Peters). Judging from the replies on here, some people agreed with me and others agreed with you. Heck, I did a topic a while back saying how I was annoyed at McFly day but I've learned to live with it now since it is only a once a week thing whereas this was 4 days out of 5.

And I did say at the start of this topic that I might be alone here as I assumed that most of you would be liking it since I was pretty much in the minority when I complained about McFly day. I do take things a bit too serious at times but when you enjoy a show a lot like this one, you just tend to get annoyed easily at certain parts of it. Like I can easily moan about the whole milking the Radio 1 Big Weekend event and tracks to death for the past several weeks etc but that has to be done. Luckily, they haven't done the whole last hour dedicated to R1BW tracks like they did last year if memory serves me correctly. Anyway, enough is enough and its time for a change! :P

I think CPC is the second best part of the show, after the Opening Link.

I also think The Golden Hour is a pile of crap -- the same bloody songs on a 10 week rotation. I fast forward through the whole thing.

In other words, "Who cares what I think?"

Any idea when? It seems everytime I moan about something it seems to get some sort of mention on the show. First it was McFly day and now this. Guess I am bringing a bad aura around this forum now pretty much. Apologies for those annoyed at it but just wanted to share my opinion on the situation last week even if I did have to moan about it a few more times but I am sure as hell not the first one on here and don't think I will be the last either.

Was on before the news. Well, when the newbeat jingle was playing pretty much.
