No spoilers?

But, erm, you know it's on the radio and that they're talking about it right now, don't you?

I'd have been telling him to get his fat finger out of his fat arse and get the * out of BED!!!!!!!! Honestly I love the man but he makes me so MAD..........!

You really need something more in your life if that gets you mad.

In which case, you don't need me to tell you what's going on, right?

There's this new thing called "iPlayer" where you can listen to radio shows rather than just on the "wireless". It's awesome, check it out!

In other news, not everyone is up at 6.30am!

Did you even think before posting this?

Well yeah.

But given this forum is quite often centred around discussion of the show, it struck me as odd that discussion of the show might be considered a 'spoiler'.

Does that mean we should wait until the show has been removed from the iplayer before discussing something that happened on it so it's not a 'spoiler'?

Dave should be Gaffa taped for most of the show :D

This thread was not originally about the Carlisle shows, so you could stumble in and read about happenings from today's show without realising.

Also, I hate spoilers, so I'm very conservative about labelling what may be a spoiler.

I'm not a morning person either, conversation before the consumption of at least two cups of tea is strictly prohibited with me. Also I would like nothing better than to have the luxury of not being "able" to get up when the alarm goes off, but unfortunately I have a job which requires that I turn up on time every day. I don't have staff or colleagues to coax me into wakefulness every day and I don't live with my mummy any more, so I have to behave like a grown up and actually do what I'm supposed to do without someone else having to do it for me.

People who say they "can't" get up when they are supposed to are just being lazy. No one WANTS to, but unless you either don't really have to or you are an irresponsible fecker, you do.

Really? You genuinely think that hearing something about the daily radio show that you were planning to listen to later on will ruin your day? Or even spoil it a teeny bit? Really? People clearly don't have enough problems.

Well, maybe. But, I think it was a bit much when you were camped out in front of the cinema on the opening nights of The Crying Game and The Sixth Sense holding up those placards.

It can be used for other things like talking about sport and tv programmes as well though.

Or, if you don't want to know the result of the Grand Prix, don't check that thread.... likewise Doctor Who or anything else.

That's difficult tho, cos threads roam so easily from one topic to another here, and we don't stop that happening. For example, 'This morn' is an extremely vague topic title, and gives you no real clue as to what might be inside.

That said, I'm not sure if we should have spoiler tags. How long would you leave them in place for people who hadn't listened yet? A day? A week? It's a potential minefield.

Its completely ludicrous. People who are going to get that upset about hearing the plot of a TV show before they've watched it really shouldn't be encouraged.

Surely every thread / comment has the potential to be a spoiler for someone, somewhere?! Ben didn't know the difference between a grand and upright piano, would the spoiler tag apply here.....? :?

I used to post on a Lost forum and I felt that spoiler tags were massively over-used, but then people do get annoyed about these things. I accidentally spoiled myself on the internet for season 3 of Mad Men and it irritated me all the way through watching it from thereon. I wouldn't say it upsets me exactly, but it changed the way I viewed things that were happening, so I wish I hadn't done it.
