The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I've got nothing against Aled, but I think the whole dynamic of the show is better with 2 girlies on board. I really wouldn't mind Sam sticking around - or at least sharing the role with Aled.

I disagree. Sam's fine, but a bit 'nothing'. Anyhow, having heard her moan when Aled was first sick that she really wished he would hurry up and get better so she could have her lie-ins back, I doubt she'd be too keen on doing it either.

Going off topic for a minute here, two weeks off for the flu?! Come on Aled! I do say this as someone who has had the flu btw (diagnosed by a proper doctor and everything). It was horrible, and I couldn't move for a few days, fainted twice when I tried to get to the bathroom...woe is me etc. etc.

But two weeks is just taking the pee. Unless I'd been in hospital for the majority of that time, I would be extremely embarrassed to ever have to go back to work and explain to everyone why I had a nice two weeks of lie-ins, watching daytime tv and playing video games whilst they all got on with the job.

I apologise for the rant, but that has been bugging me since last week!

I think the story was explained that Al had flu, and then developed something else while his immune system was down, hence the two weeks.

I'm kinda torn on this one, as I love Aleds producing, but have really enjoyed Sam being on the show too. Maybe a week on/week off system?

If it takes less than 2 weeks to recover, then it aint flu, its a bad cold. People - even doctors - use the word "flu" to describe a whole lot of viruses that are related, but realistically a common cold virus can resist a normal immune system for anything up to 10 days, and flu - proper flu - is a hell of a lot worse. Plus he had complications. From the sound of him, I don't think he should be back at work yet anyway.

I don't think you should be so quick to judge others based on your own experiences.

I have had flu once in my life and yep, I knew all about it. If you can get up it's a cold, if you can't get up it's flu. I had it full on for about 6 days, then thought I was recovered then it came back worse for another 7 days. It's entirely possible to have flu for two weeks.

I still stand by my point about not needing two weeks off, but I'm glad Aled is back now anyway. Since I dragged the thread off topic nobody else has said whether or not they'd like Sam to stay in her current on air role permanently?

Sam and Aled are great but in different ways. It wouldnt disapoint me if Sam kept the job (which wont happen, obviously) but it will be good to have Aled back as well. I must admit to thinking that the balance Sam strikes with being vocal on the show is pretty spot on, though. Too many voices on-air can be a bit too crowded.

I like both but I marginally prefer Aled.

I like them both equally to be honest, they're both great in their own ways, although I have to says it's nice to hear a broad Estuary accent on the show (Tina's quite posh in comparison) :)

It's been a bit quiet without Aled so I look forward to hearing again on the show.

The way 'real' flu has been described to me by my Doctor is that if there is a £50 note on the floor next to your bed and (even at a struggle and lots of pain) you can somehow drag yourself out of bed and pick it up then you don't have Flu but have a very bad cold/virus instead - only if you can not move at all (not even for £50) do you have Flu.

As much as I like that description, if it's next to my bed it's unlikely to be going anywhere, and who's gonna come near me and risk getting flu? I'll pick it up when i'm better :D

I wonder if Sam's screw up that left several seconds on dead air between two records the other morning hastened Aled's return? :)

I know that Aled has said that Sam isn't too keen on becoming an on-air character, but it would be nice if she would contribute later on in the show as Aled used to when Rachel was show producing.

Yeah i hope that Sam is on the show more. I love it she is fun and not as stricked as Aled. Aled no offense to him he is a nice guy but a lot dim on things.

I like Sam. Its a good change for when Aled is away but he is irreplaceable. The show just isn't the same without him

I think it's very unfair to say that Aled's dim, even if he may be "stricked".
