I'm sorry but I couldn't resist.

The Doctor in America, Stetsons, Nixon, River, White House, Utah, Pirates, Ood, Clones, Neil Gaiman, Death, Marriage, Lily Cole, and Mark Sheppard.

Oh, and these bad boys. Silence will fall. 8O

Gotta Love Mark Sheppard. He is a great actor for the Doctor Who genre, from Warehouse 13, Supernatural, Battleship Galactica, to Chuck. Can't wait for Doctor who to return, i still miss David Tennant he is my all time favourite Doctor. Matt Smith is good but not My Doctor.

Obviously it's subjective, and I loved David Tennant but.........Matt Smith IS the Doctor.

These views are my own and not necessarily those of the BBC.

Eccleston was good. Tennant was good. Smith is good. They've yet to choose an actor who has made me go off the series.
On the subject of the new series. This will go down as one of the best lines ever in the series and it goes a little something like this
Bad guy: "Fear me, I've killed hundreds of Time Lords."
Doctor: "Fear me. I've killed them all."

I imagine the best idea would be to avoid this thread until you've watched it, no?

Impossible Astronaut indeed. Instinct says the astronaut is a young River.

I watched this last nighter and thought it was better than the last series but still not as good as when either Christopher Eccleston or David Tennant played the doctor.

Am I the only one young enough to remember Arthur Darvill, then known as Tom Darvill, presenting CiTV between 2000 and 2001?

I used to love the CiTV jingle. Dun, dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun, DUN!

I know, right? But to me it only seems like 5 years ago, not 10. I'd always wondered what had happened to him and Danielle, I mean, why did he only quit after a year? I always thought of 2000-2001 as the "golden era" of CiTV. Great shows, like SMTV.

It was only last year when I was watching a Doctor Who Confidential special where they just follow him around all day as a sort of documentary type thing, that I noticed on the caption it said "Arthur Darvill". I was like, hold on, I know that name... OMG. Is he related to Tom Darvill, from CiTV? Wait a minute... that is Tom Darvill!

I looked it up and he left to start his own theatre company. He changed his stage name to his middle name, Arthur, presumably because it sounded more professional. And what do you know, he ends up on probably the biggest sci-fi series of all time, Doctor Who. Wow. So that's what happened to Tom Darvill.

As a casual viewer I enjoyed it, still not taken to some of the characters but getting there.

I got a bit mind * by it all.

River and the Doctor going in different directions of time, how does that work?

If 200 years older Doctor arranged it, then he must be ok in the end?

How often do you check your pictures on your phone, except after being out on the lash?

They're both time travellers. So if you and I were the same I could visit you as an 80-year old when I was 20, then go back in time and visit you as a 70-year old when I'm 30, and so on until you're 20 and I'm 70, but of course for you the final meeting will be the first and the first meeting the last. In the first story with River in she dies, because that's the end of her life but near the beginning of the Doctor's. Now the Doctor's died it's near the beginning of her life.

I assume he finds out about it all after Amy tries to kill the Astronaut.

Valid point.

I really want to like Amy Pond because she is so beautiful, but she is just not right as a companion. Rory is much better. Still, she is a long way from spoiling it for me. I have loved Dr Who since it came back. I'm completely unsentimental about the old ones, realistically they were all pretty rubbish - but since Ecclestone, its been awesome.

So she visits him then? How does that work when they are actually meeting at different points in time? She said as he gets older he knows her less how can that be?

Thanks by the way.

Also Amy gots a definite "edge" to her I think, like the pretty posh girl at schools whom's father never Farts.

I'm the opposite, I think Amy is brilliant and Rory annoys me. I do wish I had her legs though.

I LIKE Amy, I just don't think she's right as a companion. And I agree about the legs. And pretty much everything else about her. She's gorgeous.
