We tried that, but there isn't enough room in the thread to get all the raspberry-blowers in.

BOOOOOM! You mean, as it was before DD?

Believe me, if you wanna look at some forums where they have a system of banning people for periods of time for even saying something slightly irritable to another member, you will see that we're very lax indeed. All this was about was Ben wanting to create a celeb raspberry archive thread that he could keep just for that.

It's heavy compared to how we used to be modded, I just think all the messing is unnecessary.

God I hate agreeing with you.

Anyone can start a thread and post however many times they want in it before anyone else gets chance.

Ben's thread serves a purpose much like Johnny1989's Moyles/M&L Archive thread and that's why it's been changed in the same way (Johnny asked me to lock his thread to prevent further posts in it before I did the same in Ben's).

I gave people a chance to keep their posts if they wanted to.

I'm happy to lock this thread if you like Tim. You just have to rely on me being online when you want it unlocked, as Ben has.

I should point out as well that the reason I asked for a separate archive thread was because we now have so many files over on the Moyles and M&L archive that the files won't all fit in one post due to the boards limitations, so Nicola/Chris/Console (not sure who it was now) stickied the second thread for me & the first one became general chatter plus an upload thread for new files that were to be added to the archive

Can i, as a newbee to the forum, share a few points that I have on this.

The best thing about this board is it has so much content, it really is great for all the downloads on site as well as info about the team/show news. The downside that goes hand in hand with that is that when u have a lot of contact it means things can be difficult to find, particularly if your new here or maybe even don't have much experience using the net.

Now i don't have those issues, but like Nicola said, i don't want to have to troll through pages and pages plus lost of useless comments if i want to find a certain piece of info. So if i wanted to look through the celebrity raspberry's and see who had done one, id rather not have to stroll through pages of irrelevant comments.

That said though as it is a piece of info on the show, does it have to be on the forum? Why not have this under features and reviews? That would keep the forum for its correct purpose? That sounds like a heavy criticism but its not intended that way, my point is this site would have a much better structure, if the downloads/regular feature info weren't on the forum. If they were on the site it would make it easier to find things and leave the forum for what it should be.

However i have no idea how easy that is to organise and put into practise, i'd expect not very, with the constant updates, so for those reasons I think its understandable that there a few locked threads, pinned to the top of this board for people to access. If someone wants to comment on these subjects and has to create a separate post so be it, its not like your being denied the freedom to do so. I've seen several forums with locked threads before & I don't really understand the fuss.

Well I think Nic is doing a grand job. This place needed a mod was online more than once a month

Thankyou DD :)

In a general context, I will freely admit that I have OCD and sometimes I mess with things too much for the sake of tidiness, and I understand that some people don't like that. I almost made a right pig's ear of the marathon show archive in S&V Requests by doing that very thing, so I learned very quickly to be more careful. However, I haven't made any major changes at all, such as banning members or deleting threads (except spam), and I don't plan to. In the particular instance of the raspberry archive, I'm happy with what I did.

I agree. Although my stance on data storage in a forum thread still stands. Not the time or place; Archive = storage, thread = discussion.

Ben - why don't you ask Chris if he'll do a Celebrity Raspberry Archive that's separate to the forum that you can update like the Tedious Links page that nicola_red updates?

Chris, you seem to have used the word 'individuals' instead of 'dipsticks'.....!
