The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

as much as I hate Piers, i quite like his chat show. bit different from the normal Come On, Plug your Crap and Go Again routine. I was thinking that Chris should go on, he's certainly got alot to talk about and it could be another chance to show the non-CMS listeners that theres more to him than the "Chubby Motormouth Jock".

Then again, I get the impression they don't get along. still, would make great TV though :D

thoughts?

As far as I know, they don't get along. They're were at each other on twitter a while ago, and Chris mentioned on air that he hated him. Wouldn't expect Chris to agree to go on Piers' show.

Morgan is hated by a lot of people, like Private Eye editor and Have I Got News For You team captain Ian Hislop. There's a famous episode of HIGNFY from Morgan's Daily Mirror days which you can see on YouTube where he is endlessly made fun of by Hislop, and Paul Merton, and the other guest team members.

Plus there is the infamous Jeremy Clarkson fight.

Oh and the current Lord Sugar Twitter fight, but I think that's just a jokey one.

Piers Morgan doesn't mind having people who hate him on his show, but only if he thinks he can bully them - Lily Allen for instance, he was desperate to get her on even though she loathes him, but he assumed he would be able to dominate their conversation. He would never allow Moyles on it, even if Moyles would be interested, which I doubt.

He plays on being hated like it's a game though - like it's a trophy to be carried around like the pantomime villain, but for a lot of people it's far more serious than that. Lots of people (me included) genuinely believe the man should have served a prison sentence for the disgraceful publication of faked photos of British soldiers abusing Iraqi prisoners (and the subsequent refusal to apologise for those photos that led to his sacking as Editor of the Daily Mirror.)

And then theres his role in the Viglen share boosting scandal while at the Mirror. Where he not only avoided prosecution he managed to keep his job as well.

Stephen Fry, who isn't normally someone i have much time for, said the definition of 'countryside' was the killing of Piers Morgan.

Oh & according to reports his show on CNN that he took over from Larry King is losing viewers faster than Scott Mills loses hair.

I read his first book and thought he seemed a nasty little person. I do think he is quite funny, but nasty.

I don't think he says things like it is, I think he says things how he thinks it is, and realistically his perspective is nowhere near that of anyone "normal".

It's funny listening to him being interviewed - the words he uses bear no relation to the questions he's been asked. It's almost like without an exact script he just can't hack it and has to resort to being 'clever' and 'articulate', which when one has no natural aptitude for it, sounds forced and false.

He is a prime example of how people mistake verbosity for articulacy. Articulateness. Whatever. Anyway, he is verbose, not articulate.

Morgan you either love or hate I suppose. The thing I do like about him (forced or not) is he does ask the researched questions, where you actually go away knowing something about the person in the chair. Unlike Wossy were it was always about him and not his guests and you learned nothing.

The man's a despicable slug.

His entire career has been built on having people followed, having their houses watched, having their rubbish searched for no other reason than finding salacious stories about people and exploiting their names for his own ends. He has no discernible talent of his own, he just absorbs other people's.

He hung his columnist out to dry who was then sacked and jailed for insider trading, but he got off scott free.

Don't forget the appalling casual racism his newspaper promoted, and don't forget he hasn't even got the decency to apologise for printing the fake pictures of the soldiers in Afghanistan.

It's a shame Clarkson only hit him three times.
