I guess the key problem is the extra staffing in terms of having somebody (Will) in to vision mix/direct.

However in this day and age I don't think it's beyond the bounds of possibility to set something up which follows the voices for the basic bits of the show, so when Dom's mic picks up him talking it will cut to the appropriate camera, if several people are talking it goes to the wide shot, if the mics are shut it goes to the slide and wide shot. Chris or Aled could have a manual control panel for it for if they want to do something more visual and want better control temporarily. They can bring somebody in to vision mix when they have a guest in and it needs more slick.

It is easily achievable a friend of mine works for Mlb.com and he was producer and engineer for their Radio shows. They had a simple set up which was affective. All you need is 5 locked off cameras and keep the lights up and have someone to direct and engineer it. Chris could have control of the audio from his desk. If it was all done in house it would save money.

Quite often celebs get their management or sponsors to do it for them. I am sure it was Rio Ferdinand who thanked Nike for getting him his blue tick. I am sure Moyles said his appeared without him asking for it though.

Do you really think this whole Charlie Sheen publicity machine is all of his doing? He isnt sat there typing emails and making the phone calls! There is a whole team behind this Charlie Sheen campaign.

I'm not sure what the point is that you're making with facebook. I have read what Leigh Francis said about his account being deleted, but I am not sure what relevance that has to getting verified on twitter.

I've just finished watching the entire 52 hours, and it was amazing.

So many highlights. Incredible stuff.

One of the things that struck me, in addition to the great work behind the scenes to make it all run so seamlessly, was how so enthusiastic and friendly the other R1 DJs were to Chris.

Just about every show was "great radio" -- the producers and presenters put so much effort in to creating features, special remixes, games etc.
I could not stop watching, and when I finally fell asleep, I'd wake up and vaguely remember something that happened in the night, thinking "Did Katy Perry really show up and give Chris some Jazz Mags?"

It was so good to see just how genuine and friendly a lot of these people are -- to me, for years, they have just been "silly names" that Chris takes the mickey out of, but to see and hear Grimmy and Kissy Sellout and see how they are such nice blokes was great. It was clear Chris really enjoyed himself as well.

It was also really nice to see so many of Chris celeb friends show up in support of him. I loved Davina's crazy dancing, Olly Murs' Enrique & Paolo impressions and James Corden and Grimmy's Hip Hop Karaoke. Car Park Catchphrase with Gino Ginelli and Innuendo Bingo were two highlights for me. I can watch those over and over and still laugh.

I'll go along with that, apart from I thought the shows with Benji and Jaymo + Andy George were pretty weak. The latter two looked like they'd stepped in from student radio and had the personality of such as well, maybe there was tension due to the fact that Chris has been ripping the piss for the last month. Counting the time used for handovers and the like, their show was the shortest of them all, just under 50 minutes. Did any of the highlights packages play a single second from their show? Also I think the show with Benji B was affected by the fact that he was working behind Chris, instead of in front of him, meaning he couldn't bounce off him the way he would with other DJ's guests.

Can't pick too many faults with the rest of the shows though. An epic event. And I still can't believe the fact that he was stood up for almost all of it. OK, so he'd have had the chance to sit down in between songs, but his legs must have been hurting by the end.

I think Chris' first reaction to Grimmy was like many people's (including me) who had only seen him in tabloid stories or pictures. He has silly hair and dresses like a Hipster Douchebag. He also has hot, young, celebrity chick friends. The first thoughts are a combination, of "Look at this idiot with the skinny jeans" and "I am jealous that he gets to hang out with all these hot chicks".

But, of course, all that changes when you see and talk to him and find out he's pretty down to earth, and a nice guy.

I don't know about the producers, but there were a couple of shows when it really looked like Chris went out of his way to not talk to or look at the other presenter when a song was playing. It's hard to tell sometimes, as the cameras don't pick everything up, but he certainly didn't seem to be chatting it up with Mills, for example.
A lot of that may be Scott's fault -- he genuinely never seems to want to return Chris's calls or accept dinner invitations. If I was Chris, I'd be thinking "* him".

When Scott was on Early Breakfast and Chris on Drivetime, I always remember him taking the complete piss out of Mills because he was shit - although I always thought that was because he did that to whoever was on Early Breakfast at the time, because Clive Warren got the brunt of his jokes before he left; however, I do remember Scott going through the rest of the day's programmes one morning and missing Chris out, then saying "oh who have I forgotten? Oh Chris Moyles, what a shame" - and it didn't seem particularly jovial at the time, but whether there was animosity or not then, I certainly don't think there's any now. I always wondered if Chris was told to stop taking the rise out of other presenters' abilities though.

With what Chris said about Grimmy, all I thought he was saying is that they hadn't really met or talked before so didn't know what to expect of each other. I only listened to this again yesterday and I certainly didn't detect any animosity in what he said.

I liked the way Clive Warren got a couple of good digs in at Chris when he phoned in. When Chris asked for his number so that he could call him & meet up the next time Clive was in London & Clive saying, jokily, that "you're only saying that to sound nice on air" or something simlilar.

In saying that, there seemed absolutely no animosity between the two of them. Chris seemed genuinely pleased to hear from him, and Clive was getting his digs in the same way that you like to embarrass your mates, out of mischief & fun.

I think that when Chris and Mills were on the show together they went out for a fag break together. When Chris would disappear during a segue of 2 songs Scott would disappear too. So maybe they would talk outside the studio.

Another record for Moyles

As well as broadcasting the world's longest music show by a radio team and raising £2.6m for Comic Relief, Chris Moyles and Comedy Dave have hit a record for red-button viewers.

Their marathon Radio 1 broadcast last week received an audience of 2.84m, watching via digital TV - making it the BBC's most popular live radio red button feature to date.

Over the 52 hours, the broadcast achieved an average of 144 minutes viewed. In 2010, only three events had a larger average and all were sporting events over several weeks. 144 minutes out of 52 hours is very strong considering the genre – Glastonbury had an average of 36 mins, though wasn't broadcast for as many hours.

Mark Friend, Controller of BBC Multi-Platform and Interactive, says: "This was a great example of radio on the TV which worked brilliantly and which the audience loved. It added an extra dimension to an amazing piece of broadcasting."
