i don't think an overwhelming majority of radio 2's audience wouldn't take kindly to him - and he wouldn't want to compromise his style.

and he's still got the chris evans hurdle to overcome, as i couldn't see him moving to another timeslot.

however, if the opportunity to overtake evans' slot due to him having poor figures might be too attractive for his ego to turn down. i still maintain that R2 wouldn't have him.

In many ways I would love Chris to end up in the Breakfast show on R2 - but much as I like Chris Evans (Moyles is the best radio broadcaster ever, Mayo is second but Evans is top 5 without a doubt) I really don't like his show. I tend to hear it if I am taking Mr Yudster to work in the morning, which means that I tend to hear it at the same time on any given day - and it sounds exactly the same, every day. Its so formulaic, so rigid - the news is read by Moira Stewart and she sounds like she has been overdosing on tranquillisers, there is no atmosphere in the studio - its disappointing to say the least.

I don't know how much of this is because R2 insist it is, or how much is down to Evans just accepting the percieved constraints of the format and picking up his paycheck every month. All I know is that if he would push the boundaries a bit, it would be MUCH better. If Moyles did the show I believe that he WOULD push the boundaries - if he didn't think he could, I don't think he'd do the show. Yes, of course it would need to be different from the R1 show, but I have no doubt Moyles could create a brilliant R2 show which would satisfy the station, the audience AND his own standards of broadcasting.
