Has anyone mentioned the nightmare that Aled, Sam & to a lesser extent Matt Fincham & the rest of the backroom staff must have had trying to set this thing up?

We know now that it was a bit of a broadcasting triumph, but only because it must have been planned like the Normandy landings. It could have been a disaster & its thanks to the long months of work of those behind the scenes that it worked so well. They had the hard work & worry. All Chris & Dave had to do was stay awake & not hit any guests.

So well done to Aled, Sam & the gang, you played a blinder.

I tweeted Aled to say that the whole thing was slicker than your average Chris Moyles show. Sure, some things were spontaneous but on the CMS you are always aware of Aled and Sam because Chris brings them into play but throughout the longest show you could barely tell it was being produced at all - it felt so natural and organic in the way it progressed. Testament to everyone who played a role.

Chris is such a' professional and brilliant at his job, but I tried to work out when Aled was sleeping - I saw him all through both days...

All the team are just amazing.

Aled was there all the way through, popping in and out, checking on the guys to make sure all was cool. The job he did was awesome. There was a palpable atmosphere of everyone pulling together and supporting Chris and Dave. Like you say, the whole team did a fantastic job.

Apparently 'Lynn' is called Abigail - so perhaps this would be the same as Abi with Tim?

I wanted to provide some sort of evidence she is who I am saying she is.

And maybe because there are four other abigailr's who have taken the name before her?

Perhaps. I'd have picked something different tho! (Mind you, if NicolaRed had been taken I have no idea what I'd have gone with.) The thing with Twitter is there's no real way of providing evidence that anyone is 'real' unless they're a celeb who's had their account verified - anyone can use anyone's name and photo to create an account (as Moyles found out).

A bit of both - ianpwilliams' shows have just been edited to remove the music. Ben and I are in the process of clipping up individual bits like interviews etc.

What do they have to do to get it verified? Charlie sheen's was verified before he even posted anything

There used to be a form to request verification, but they've taken it down now, but are still verifying some accounts apparently.

I know only really recently David Mitchell was having trouble with a fake and had to request verification, so I guess there is a way to do it. I imagine it's probably a faff tho.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressr ... yles.shtml

Last Friday BBC Radio 1's longest-serving breakfast DJ Chris Moyles and sidekick "Comedy" Dave Vitty set a brand new Guinness World Record for broadcasting the longest music show by a radio team and, in doing so, raised a whopping £2.6 million for Red Nose Day. The whole event, which was broadcast live in-vision on the BBC Red Button, attracted an audience of 2.84 million, making it the most popular live radio red button feature to date.

Over the 52 hours, the broadcast achieved an average of 144 minutes viewed. In 2010, only three events had a larger average and all were sporting events over several weeks. 144 minutes out of 52 hours is very strong considering the genre – Glastonbury had an average of 36 mins, though wasn't broadcast for as many hours.

Mark Friend, Controller of BBC Multi-Platform and Interactive, says: "This was a great example of radio on the TV which worked brilliantly and which the audience loved. It added an extra dimension to an amazing piece of broadcasting."

Hopefully this will make Chris's case for the Radio show to be recorded or broadcast on a regular basis. I couldn't turn off. I saw 42 of the 52 hours done. So hopefully we can have more Chris on our tv or red button in the future doing the radio show.
