The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Newbie here,

I have a Freeview + box and today I have set my box to record the whole show on the red button channel 301. Don't think I can upload the footage anywhere but if anyone can tell me how I would do it I could give it a try!

Looking forward to the big day already as have listened to Moyles for a good 5/6 years now and think this will be a great legacy to one of Radio 1's best ever DJ's. Is this the forum that people will be using on the day/night/next day of the record attempt or will there be another one for showtime?

What box to you have to record it? I'm using a Topfield which hooks up to PC via USB so it makes transferring to PC for editing exceptionally easy. If you're using a bog-standard PVR however, transferring it might be more difficult, you might have to go via a DVD recorder or something.

I'd also check the length of your recording. At present, Channel 301 is due to end at 7pm on Thursday, so you might need to manually extend this somewhat. They might well be targeting the end of the Friday show at 10am. I've set mine to begin on Wednesday morning at 6:25am and not finish until Friday morning at 10:15am.

I read somewhere that the stream was due to last from Wednesday 16th at 6.30am until Friday morning (18/3) at 10am? Here is the link for that info...http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/bbcinternet/2011/03/whats_on_bbc_red_button_12th_-_1.html I've set my box to record that whole time but have no idea if it will work or not yet!

The box I have is a DigiHome DG250DTRA08. Don't think I can connect to pc/laptop but if anyone does know how I'd love to know!

Can I make the suggestion that there is a commentary thread on this forum that people can append to with their comments as the shows go out live. It will help people catch up if they've switched off or had to sleep. It will also be of some historical use for anyone attempting this in the future.

If they manage to push through to their own show on Friday morning that would take them to 51 hours. Aled says he thinks they will try to do that, but its a hell of a big ask.

Word is if they make it to 51 hours that Andy Parfitt is going to pay to have a bronze statue of Chris and Comedy Dave made and put in the lobby of Radio 1 (put in the lobby so when they move to Broadcasting House the statue moves with the station)

Really? When is this going to happen then?
