I wonder if it is possible that Carrie, despite explaining her reasons for not returning to the show long term might make a short term return? Other than her and Sara Cox I cant think of anyone I would want adding to the team. They work perfectly well as they are.

Other than replacing a temporary absentee I cant see why anyone would be added anyway.

Well I'm going to try and logic for this:

Dave: With the Dancing on Ice tour starting soon it almost seems likely that he will have to miss some shows depending on when and where the shows are. Could Cheggers return for a couple of shows?

Dom: No idea why he would be leaving on a short or long term bases. TV work or too old?

Tina: Same with Dom really. Doesn't seem to be any reason to leave the show.

Aled: Seems to be the rock of the show and don't think will ever leave the show.

Sam: Producers always seem to move around at Radio 1, so maybe Sam is moving on to another show.

Matt: For me it looks the most likely to be off. Probably a promotion to Producer and move to another show to fill in the space left by the person that has take over Producer Niel's (Greg's old Producer) job.

Even just for the days when Dave is off on the DOI tour, woulden't it be great to hear Sara and Chris teaming up. Those shows where Sara covered for Chris last year were just as entertaining as any regular Moyles show.

No offence to Matt/Sam but I don't think something like that would need a 'tease' - there wasn't such a thing when Rachel left, it just got explained that things had changed.

The timing of the announcement. It'd be great for us to get it out before we go on holiday. It's down to contracts and getting them complete in time.

I'm still going for celebrity sidekick(s) to replace Dave if he goes out on tour. I don't think "contracts" would be an issue if they were bringing in a BBC staffer, so that would rule out production and news duties. Didn't they have celebrity sidekicks when Dave was away on paternity leave or maybe one of the Comic Relief things? Looks the same to me. I am prepared to be proved hideously and massively wrong, though.
