record from a dictaphone to wav on cool edit 1.2a,
i have a jack to jack which i have plugged from the phones socket on the dictaphone and into the mic socket on my computer, but cool edit doesnt record it, however the sound comes through my speakers.

i havent got cool edit so i cant be sure, but wavelab sometimes does this too. if cool edit it normally records from a mic input then you might need to

start playin the dictaphone

go to control panel and click sounds

click on voice, then click on configure the mic

once youve done this it should recognise the sounds and record.

Have you selected 'mic' as the recording source? If not goto volume controls (in Windows) the Options --> Properties --> Recording --> Make sure Microphone is checked --> Click OK, then check the select button under microphone.
